Nollywood actress, Damilola Adegbite has opened up on her failed marriage and she claims she never broke down in tears when her husband, Chris Attoh left him.
Damilola told media personality, Chude Jideonwo in an interview that love is not enough and that is the mistake a lot of people make thinking it’s the ultimate ingredient that binds partners together and makes them inseparable.
She further said she never regrets anything that happened between her and Chris Attoh and the only thing that exists between them is the fact he’s the father of her only son.
On the same platform, she reiterated that she has drawn valuable lessons from the failed marriage which could shape her future engagement with other potential suitors.
“MY MARRIAGE DIDN’T WORK BUT I LEARNT A MASSIVE LESSON FROM THAT EXPERIENCE AND IT IS THAT LOVE IS NOT ENOUGH…WHEN YOU MEET SOMEONE YOU WANT TO SEND THE REST OF YOUR LIFE WITH, LOVE IS NOT ENOUGH…FOR ME IT IS DONE, THE ONLY REGARD I HAVE FOR HIM NOW IS THAT HE IS THE FATHER OF MY SON, I DON’T REGRET ANYTHING.”
A Maryland woman who was gunned down while leaving her office on Friday May 10, 2019 was married to two different men simultaneously, one of whom is a convicted Baltimore drug lord and the other one is a Ghanaian actor, police said Sunday.
Greenbelt police said 44-year-old Bettie Jenifer of Bowie, left her office in the 6300 block of Ivy Lane about 5 p.m. and was walking to her car when a man armed with a handgun approached her.
When she tried to run away, the man followed her and fired multiple rounds. At least one bullet struck her in the head, police said. The suspect took off in a vehicle. Police described the suspect as black and having a thin build with black hair. He was wearing dark clothing and may have been in a blue car.
Police confirmed Saturday that Jenifer was married to Chris Attoh, a well-known actor and TV host in Ghana. The two married in October, 2018 following Attoh’s divorce from his first wife, Damilola Adegbite who is a popular Nigerian actress.
On Sunday May 12, police said Jenifer was also married to 47-year-old Kedrick Jenifer, who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for importing large amounts of cocaine into Baltimore from Texas.
The U.S. District Attorney’s Office said the kingpin’s “Jenifer drug trafficking organization” distributed at least 450 kilograms of cocaine in Baltimore and Woodbridge, Virginia.
“Kedrick Jenifer lived large as a major Baltimore drug dealer, but now he will lose all of his toys and live for two decades in federal prison,” U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein said in a news release after his sentencing, according to the Baltimore Sun.
Court records show that Kedrick Jenifer filed for a divorce on April 9. Bettie Jenifer then filed for divorce six days later. The attorneys involved declined News4’s request for comment.
Greenbelt police confirmed Sunday the shooting was targeted and not a random incident. Police have not named a suspect or motive in the case. Co-workers said Bettie Jenifer worked at a temporary staffing agency on the first floor.
A spokesperson for Attoh’s talent agency gave the following statement:
“Waka Talent Agency is saddened by the death of Bettie Jenifer, who was married to our client, Mr. Chris Attoh. We would like to note that the family has requested to mourn in private and therefore will not be doing any press interviews or commenting on the death.”
Ghanaian actor Chris Attoh has sparked speculations that his second marriage to Bettie Jennifer is in crisis, following the deletion of all her photos on his Instagram account.
The internet woke up to the news of Chris’ private wedding to his American wife on Saturday, October 7, barely a year after divorcing Nigerian actress Damilola Adegbite.
The 39-year-old and Damilola were married for three years – a union which produced a child, Brian, who is now four years old.
In 5 months from now, Chris Attoh and his US-based wife will be marking their first wedding anniversary, but it appears the union is already facing storms.
It is not clear immediately why Chris Attoh took down all of Betty’s photos but the move has stoked conversation on social media with fans expressing diverse opinions, which are all pointing to a direction that the marriage may have hit the rocks.
Beautiful Television Presenter, Regina Van-Helvert has shaved off her hair just to take on a role as a cancer patient in a new movie titled “Swings”.
The host of “Rhythms Live” on GH One TV who is fast rising in the movie industry, said she didn’t expects to get such challenging roles especially in her early stage as an actress but she had to risk loosing her hair for the first time and the risk was worth it.
“I never thought there would be a point in my acting career that would demand that I shave my hair but the character I played influenced it. After reading the script I was given an option to either shave off all my hair or use the bald cup but I wanted to connect more and immerse myself with the character so I decided to go all out for it”, she revealed in an interview.
Regina played the lead role of a cancer patient, Toni who was going through chemotherapy and she admits the role was emotional and very challenging.
“My character was a young girl in the pursuit of love and happiness discovered she had a terminal illness. It was very challenging because I had to immerse myself into Toni’s character and it obviously wasn’t an easy role, as I had to play a very sick and bubbly girl at the same time. The switch between characters was fast paced. But thanks to the amazing cast, crew and the producer who made the task less tedious than it would have been”.
“Swings” is an emotional yet exciting biopic story which projects Love, Chance and Choice, a mysterious fate causes an exasperated two to realize and fight the feelings they have for each other.
The movie stars; Yvonne Nelson, Chris Attoh, Regina Van-Helvert, Henry Adofo, Peter Ritchie, Ian Wordi, Fella Makafui and many others.

After months of speculations and denials, Ghanaian actor, Chris Attoh, has finally admitted that his marriage to Damilola Adegbite has crashed. The actor who married on February, 14, 2015, made the revelation in an interview with Bellanaija.com.
When asked how he and his ex-wife Damilola Adegbite balanced their marriage, son and work, he said: “I believe throughout our marriage, It has probably been one of the most challenging things we have ever done, however, the key word is balance.
At times when we both had to work, our parents would be there to hold the fort. God bless family because they were and still are very supportive.
However, since the divorce, we are obviously now reworking things to create a new balance between work, spending time with and raising our son. Dami is a wonderful woman and an amazing mother.
Despite our differences, she and I will always be friends. So more than anything, we will find ways to continue to make sure that Brian can still have a balanced upbringing filled with love and support.
Both our families have been and are still very supportive in helping us take care of our son Brian when we can’t be there due to work.”

On playing Ireti Doyle’s love interest on the EbonyLife TV series – Fifty:
One word, exciting! Aunty Ireti is like a big sister and a friend, and an incredible actress with a world of experience within her. I’m always happy to be around her because I learn from her whenever we work together. We have been friends and work colleagues for years, from the good days of Tinsel, so working together is easy, exciting and always a comfortable experience. I have a lot of respect for her and her craft. It was a privilege being a part of Fifty – the series. I loved the film and jumped at the opportunity when I received a call from Mo Abudu whom I also admire so much.
On what he’d be doing if he wasn’t an actor:
I would like to think any of these – a stuntsman, a full-time film director, or a chef! I enjoy cooking so much. I haven’t done much of it lately, but there is nothing more relieving or gratifying than a man in the kitchen with nothing on but just his apron! ….. lol I would have been a renowned chef by now believe me.
On what makes a great film for him:
A great film for me is when all the elements of a film come together perfectly and efficiently. Like a chef cooking a meal, it’s the recipe and the elements that go into the soup. So it’s not just the acting, but the way it’s captured. Is it subjective or objective? It should have a great storyline, the soundtrack must be top notch. It must have memorable characters and a strong message. The cinematography must be executed beautifully and professionally. And each actor, even the extras, must always give a great performance.
Once you have all the above and a great editor, you most likely would have a great film regardless of the genre. You know, something will be great if everything about it works together to do amazing things.
On how he and his ex-wife Damilola Adegbite balanced their marriage, son and work:
I believe throughout our marriage, it was probably one of the most challenging things we ever did. However, the key word is balance.
So, more than anything we will find ways to continue to make sure that Brian can still have a balanced upbringing filled with love and support. Both our families have been and are still very supportive in helping us take care of our son Brian when we can’t be there due to work.
On his recent film, the role & what the experience was like:
It’s an American Indie film, “An Accidental Zombie Named Ted” produced and directed by Anne Welles. I had actually auditioned for the role 4 years ago through KM productions, one of my affiliate agents in the USA.
Zombies are indeed involved, but it’s not entirely a zombie movie, in fact, there is only one zombie and he seems to be in denial.
The movie also stars actors like Gary Anthony Williams from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Kane Hodder, best known for his role as horror icon Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13th and Jason Goes to Hell movies. It was such a privilege to work with and learn from the amazing cast and crew.
In fact, I’ve just returned from shooting it in Florida. I played the role of Ricky, Ted’s friend. Ted, who is also the lead character, was played by Cameron McKendry. The actual movie will be finished in Spain by the end of October. Then we have to go straight to LA in November for a screening with AFM. There will also be a screening in Florida, I believe in December before its cinematic release.
On how auditioning for the role 4 years ago helped him take on the role:
I believe the key word is growth. I wasn’t a family man then, I was just becoming one. Which is something that has changed my life immensely because now, whatever I do I’m reminded that I’m totally responsible for another human being, leaving less room for errors. I’ve also had the opportunity to do more international work, like the award-winning Happiness is a Four Letter Word shot in South Africa (Waka agency) and The Rangers (KM productions) also shot in the USA.
I’ve had the privilege to equip myself better with what works and what doesn’t on an international stage or set. At the end of the day, it all comes down to being professional, and behaving professionally. I have added more value and knowledge to myself as an actor, a director and a brand.
I believe I’m more disciplined now as well; the experience I have had with personal acting coaches, and some truly talented directors have further broadened my understanding of my craft, all these certainly made me more ready for the role.
On ‘The Kindness Foundation’ and what birthed the idea:
I usually don’t like to talk about my philanthropy work in the open. I feel it defeats the purpose. However, for the sake of growing the foundation and doing more, I will share.
Kindness Foundation was incorporated in 2015 with its core objective being to inspire people to do one intentional act of kindness every day. We have always heard of random acts of kindness, however, with the foundation, we are more specific and focus on an act every day. Acts of kindness do not always have to be monetary or have a financial consideration. so to speak.
We have created a platform where people share their acts to encourage others to do same. We have also jointly undertaken some projects all in the spirit of showing kindness to our fellow human beings. We recently distributed 1,300 mathematical sets to students who wrote their examinations in the Northern and Volta regions of Ghana, after a coordinator sent a picture of a student using a cutlass as a straight edge.
In all, we visited 7 schools in the North and 3 schools in the Volta region. We pray that we are able to soon touch lives everywhere, because the day we all remember to be each other’s keeper, the world would be a better, safer and kinder place.
On an act of Kindness he has performed in the past 5 days:
Well, we are in the centre of a project right now. However, the point of this is to contribute what you have big or little to make someone else’s life better. I’ll give you an example. I’ve had to consciously smile a lot (laughs). You would be amazed how much a smile can change another’s fate. It’s my motto to do one kind act a day from financial contributions to physical acts. And I endeavour to meet the goal daily as an individual and through our foundation.
On the recent announcement of him being the brand ambassador/spokesperson for Iflix:

Iflix is certainly one of my babies I’m very passionate about. Actor Chris Attoh won’t speak to the issue of his current relationship status with actress Damilola Adegbite.
He decided not to admit or rubbish the rumors about the marriage between them coming to an end except to say “Damilola is fine, our baby is also growing faster and faster” in an interview with Citi Showbiz.
Having been in two high-profiled relationships, Attoh shared some advice on how to make it work.
“Relationships are things that should to be left to those who are in it. When you are outside a relationship you have a different view of it but those in it know better. But I will advise that before you get into the relationship you should take your time and know what you want and give it a shot. If it works, fine! If it doesn’t, you learn from your mistakes and you shine.”
The 2-year marriage of Ghanaian actor Chris Attoh and his Nigerian actress wife Damilola Adegbite Attoh is over.
Persons close to the situation tell livefmghana.com “love doesn’t live in the Attoh house anymore.” The union apparently ended weeks before the second anniversary celebration on February 14 this year.
Attoh posted a mushy post on Instagram in hopes of getting his queen back on the day which is celebrated around the world for honouring special people.
“Dearest Dami, Our anniversary is a celebration of the mistakes we made in the past, memories we are making today and all the happiness that is in store for us in the future. I don’t know where I would be, if you hadn’t supported me this far. if it weren’t for you, Our house would never have become a home, Our child would never have understood the meaning of family without you. I continue to experience true love because of you. Today, as we celebrate our anniversary, I just want to say thanks for everything baby. These past years, I pray I have been the kind of guy that an amazing woman like you truly deserves. Today is the perfect moment to say Thank You for all the sacrifices you’ve made to keep the boat of our lives afloat. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to discover that a beautiful wife with a beautiful heart equals a beautiful life. Happy anniversary sweetheart, and a happy Valentines Day. Nii.”
Damilola neither responded nor ‘liked’ the picture making people question if the couple were facing difficulties.
Insiders say the breakdown of the marriage is likely due to financial issues and Mr. Attoh’s frequent travels in the name of shooting movies leading to a feeling of neglect.

Nollywood actress and wife of Ghanaian Actor Chris Attoh, Damilola Attoh has sent a strong warning to any teacher who dares to touch her son.
Damilola has a son with actor husband Chris Attoh and just like any mother would do, Dami has send some words to teachers known for abusing their students.
There has been a lot of news about violent teachers in Nigeria lately. Sadly, one even killed a student last week and this has prompted the mother of one to send a stern word to all overzealous teachers.
Dami captioned the warning, “Give them an inch and they will take a mile. Kmt.” (kissing my teeth).
In her warning, Damilola stated categorically that any teacher who touches her son would see the devil in her.
