Popular Broadcaster Kofi Okyere Darko aka KOD has successfully pulled off yet another great celebirity party.
The LIVE FM Presenter’s reign as the ultimate party organizer continued with an amazing event at the newly opened plush Club Oynx , Cantonments Saturday October 8, 2016.
The party dubbed BlackIsBlack saw hundreds of people including celebrities and business leaders in attendance. It was a night of fashion, style and great music, and also the official after party for the 2016 Glitz Africa Fashion Week.
There was a mini-birthday celebration for Jeff Sowah, Brands and Manager Manager of Excellence In Broadcasting (EIB) Network. Some of the celebrities present were Nana Ama McBrown, Singer Efya, Soccer star Afriyie Acquah, Berla Mundi, Salma Mumin, AJ Sarpong, Elikem Kumordzi, D-Black, Eddy Blay, Hajia4Real, among others.
The event was a NINETEEN57 by KOD initiative in partnership with Ovation International, EuroStar Limousine Group, Moet and Chandon and X Men and the Hair Center.
Thirty young women eagerly absorbed important lessons from leading women in the broadcast industry, including Bridget Otoo and Berla Mundi among others, as part of a new initiative from Anita Erskine Media and Brand Woman Africa titled “Conversations – Leading Change Through Young Women in an Evolving Africa,” held at the Oak Plaza Hotel today.
“I believe our young women have so much incredible potential to create the kind of social change Ghana urgently needs, but sometimes it’s just a matter of finding the right motivation to push you in the direction of success,” said award-winning television and radio host Anita Erskine, who organized the event. “I created Conversations which will be a quarterly event covering a range of sectors, to give young women an opportunity to interact with and have real conversations with experts on how to build a successful career within a particular industry.”

The following speakers were in attendance to share a range of experiences and advice on topics across the broadcast industry in Ghana and show the audience what powerful women are capable achieving within the media:

Inspiring Global Progress
The program, designed to educate and inspire young women from the Ghana Institute of Journalism, the African University College of Communication and NAFTI, gave aspiring females the chance to connect, communicate and network with industry experts including Anita Erskine. After listening to each of the broadcast industry experts tell their stories, the students were spilt into small groups to provide more intimate conversations between the students and the professionals. Key parts of the program focused on broadcasting online via Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn and how it can encourage wider participation and reach a global audience.
The event served as the first installment of a recurring program designed to encourage the next generation of female leaders across a variety of industries. Sponsors including Oak Plaza, EcoBank, the Vodafone Ghana Foundation, Microsoft and Lux are thrilled to have taken part in such a positive experience focused on growing a new generation of empowered female entrepreneurs.
So every 1st day in April gives everyone the freedom to prank people without remorse, in the same vein Ghana’s comedy king DKB decided to team up with beautiful GHone TV presenter AJ Sarpong to give their fans a little gossip to munch on for the season.
The execution was done on morning show GHtoday that airs on EIB network GHone Television, just after AJ finished her news scoop DKB decided to change the atmosphere into a romantically charged one by rendering a sweet marriage proposal to her with an emerald ring, which she accepted amidst tears of joy. The believably of the “April fool” prank was when they shared a kiss live on TV.
DKB crowned it all by posting pictures of them on his social media with the caption” she said yes! Glad we made it public now. I love you very much. Oya chop kiss. Social network went buzzing with adorable congratulatory messages with a few doubtful ones. In simple urban parlance, Ghana’s internet was broken today by DKB’s marriage proposal to AJ prank.
Info desk of Kelvinfnk caught up with DKB and this is what he had to say “I want to thank Ghanaians and the general public for believing and trusting that I’m capable of showing a soft side via proposing to AJ on live TV, I’m really over whelmed by the love from your messages and best wishes.
He further went on to say ‘‘to be honest, with the affable response I have received, I deeply wish it was true. Once again I am really grateful for the love and support from my fans plus apologies to does who will be disappointed with this news, don’t worry it’s all fun #Vimyaazo”
