African-stars-at-2016-BET-AwardsThe awards for the African categories of the 2016 BET Awards were held a day before the main event at the Microsoft Theater, on Sunday but that didn’t prevent our stars from showing up at the event in Style.

Ghana’s MzVee dazzled in her natural girl elements while Nigerian diva Yemi Alade made a bold fashion statement on the red carpet wearing a piece from celebrated designer Zuhair Murad’s 2016 Resort Collection.

Model and former Miss Malaika, Hamamat Montia sported a sexy yellow dress while Diamond Platnumz looked dapper and stylish and South African Rapper AKA.

MZVEE ARRIVES IN LOS ANGELES FOR 2016 BET AWARDS

MzVee 1Dancehall act Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda, trade name MzVee, has landed in the United States of America where she’s slated to participate in the 2016 BET awards show.

MzVee was nominated for one award, the Best International Act – Africa, category – a nomination that turned heads back in her homeland. The ceremony would be held Sunday night at the Microsoft Theatre in LA.

2016 BET AWARDS – FULL LIST OF NOMINATIONS

MzVee would be competing for the award in a competitive category against Aka, Black Coffee and Cassper Nyovest from South Africa, Nigeria’s Wizkid and Yemi Alade, Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz and Serge Beynaud of the Ivory Coast.

Sarkodie and Stonebwoy are the two other Ghanaian artists to have competed for the award in the past. Stonebwoy won the 2015 award.
