ANYONE WHO DONATES 100 CEDIS TOWARDS BUILDING OF THE CATHEDRAL IS A FOOL – Kwame A-Plus

Former Ghanaian musician and activist, Kwame A Plus has lambasted the Akufo Addo-led government over its decision to let Ghanaians contribute 100 cedis towards the construction of the national cathedral.

The Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori Atta, whilst delivering the Mid-year budget review in parliament on Thursday, July 29 entreated Ghanaians to support in the building of the national cathedral.

Wading into the conversation that sparked online after this was made known in parliament, Kwame A Plus said any Ghanaian who will donate GHC100 towards the building of the national cathedral whilst children sit under trees in school is a fool and will rot in hell.

He wrote:

“#cathedral_vs_hospital_challenge welcome to Achimota Government Hospital staff bungalow and some selected ANIMAL hospitals elsewhere. It is clear that the treatment given to animals in some countries is by far better than health workers in Ghana. Even a sick and dying dog won’t be put in a place like the Achimota Government Hospital STAFF bungalow.

Ken Ofori Atta said;

“Work on the National Cathedral is progressing speedily and following the program of the contractor. The National Cathedral is expected to be officially commissioned on March 6, 2024. Upon completion, the National Cathedral will provide a space for formal religious activities of state and symbolize the enormous contribution of faith to nation-building.”

“this state and church partnership envisaged by the president to develop the National Cathedral is on course. An initiative; the GHC100 a month also dubbed “Ketoa Biaa Nsua” will be launched by the trustees of the National Cathedral on August 12, 2021, to give as many Ghanaians as possible the opportunity to be part of the history of the National Cathedral.”

He detailed “the aim of the club is to raise one million Ghanaians who would give GHC100 a month for the construction of the national cathedral.”

“A special shortcode 979 has been developed for this purpose as we look forward to Mr speaker and all the members of this august house join in the GHc100/a month.”

Mr Ofori-Atta said the Cathedral is expected to be commissioned on March 6, 2024.
