I’M BEING BLACKMAILED WITH A S£XTAPE’ – Tiwa Savage

Top Nigerian songstress, Tiwa Savage has in the latest interview revealed that she is currently been blackmailed by an unknown person with a sex tape that was recorded with her current fiance.

According to the female musician who was speaking during an interview on power105.1 hosted by Angie Martins in New York revealed that she received a call from his road manager who sent her a video of herself and her boyfriend having s3x.

Tiwa further revealed that his manager told her that an unknown person had blackmailed him by requesting a huge sum of money in order not to release the video to the public space.

“The first thing I did after I got off the phone was that I sent it to my manager and asked what we should do. The person is asking for money now. The person I am dating is going crazy too. My manager asked how much the person is asking for. “ she said.

“I decided I was not going to pay the person because if I do, two months from now, three months down the line or even two years later, you are going to come back again. Who knows, if I send the money, the person will probably release it. I am not going to let anyone blackmail me for doing something natural.” She added.

The singer further stressed that she will not give a dime to her blackmailers. Savage stated that she could release the video herself because she is ‘that crazy’.

“No part of me wants to pay the person. That is what is getting me angry. If you want to put it out, put it out. I am that crazy that I can put it out myself. You are not making any money from me. This was an intimate moment with someone I am dating. The person I am dating is not famous, he is a regular guy and his whole business is about to be out. He is more concerned about me because he knows that I am going to be more affected. My mother and my son having to see it. I am going to talk to my son about it.

“For me, it is when he is older at about 15 and someone is rude to him at the playground and they make reference to the tape. I have to brace him up.”

SHATTA WALE, MANIFEST, MR EAZI, BURNA BOY, ANGELIQUE KIDJO OTHERS IN GRAMMY 2019 NOMINATION

Wizkid, Shatta Wale and more were nominated for their work on Beyoncé’s ‘Lion King: The Gift’ while Mr Eazi earned a nod for his contribution to Bad Bunny and J. Balvin’s ‘Oasis.’

The 2020 Grammy nominations have just been announced, and it looks to be a standout year for African artist.

Burna Boy has earned his first-ever nomination in the (albeit dubious) ‘Best World Music’ category for his celebrated album African Giant which features Ghanaian Rapper Manifest among others. Speaking with Grammy.com about the vision for the album back in August, the artist said: My vision is just to…shine a light on a place and on people and a situation and everything that there hasn’t been a light on for a long time.”

In that same category is three-time Grammy winner Angelique Kidjo for her album Celia, which pays homage to the late Afro-Cuban legend Celia Cruz. Burna and Kidjo worked together on the track “Different” from African Giant.

Also nominated for Best World Music category are Nathalie Joachim With Spektral Quartet for their release Fanm D’ayiti (Women of Haiti), Bokanté & Metropole Orkest (conducted by Jules Buckley) and Turkish rock band Altin Gün.

Also nominated for his work on J Balvin and Bad Bunny’s Oasis is Mr Eazi. Several artists including Wizkid, Tiwa SavageYemi Alade and Shatta Wale are nominated alongside Beyoncé for their work on her The Lion King: The Gift album, which was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album amongst others.

Funnyman Trevor Noah, who recently became the first African artist to sell-out Madison Square Garden, also earned a nomination in the Best Comedy Album category for “Sticks and Stones.”

Rapper, singer and flautist Lizzo is the most nominated artist with nine to her name. While the Grammy’s are often criticised for nominating the same African artists (and lumping them into one eye roll-worthy category known as the “Best World Music”) the inclusion of African Giant and other works from African does reflect an acknowledgement of the cultural influence of contemporary African pop music.

The 2020 Grammys are scheduled to air on January 26. See the full list of nominees below:

Watch: TIWA SAVAGE UNDER ATTACK FOR DROPPING GHANA FLAG ON STAGE

Nigerian Singer Tiwa Savage was one of the best performers on the Ghana Meets Naija 2017 stage but a little act by the “Eminado” Singer is almost taking away the shine of her unforgettable stage craft.

Tiwa who came on stage holding a Ghana flag, dropped the flag on the floor at some point as her performance heated up and this has attracted heavy backlash from Ghanaians especially on social media describing her action as disrespectful to the nation and its citizens.

Tiwa Savage has not commented yet about her action which perhaps may be unintentional or harmless but some Ghanaian are commanding an apology from the Nigerian Singer.

Meanwhile, some Nigerians have come to the defence of Tiwa Savage arguing that her act was not intentional and that she dropped it to be able to perform freely inside the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday May 27, 2017.

The just-ended Ghana Meets Naija Concert 2017 lived up to expection.

The 7th edition of the event which took place at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday May 27, 2017 saw performances from West African giants as Falz, Davido, M.anifest, Tiwa Savage, Shatta Wale, Lil Win, young DJ Switch and several others.

Ghana’s DJ Nii Aryee Tagoe, DJ Vyrusky, DJ Lord, DJ Obi (Nigeria) all mounted the decks to keep the charged atmosphere at a constant high, which they did to perfection.

From all indications, organigers of the event seem satisfied with the outcome of the event and patrons got an event worth their money.

At the end of it all, Ghana’s Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale was crowned king of the night.

“I DO NOT CONSIDER TIWA SAVAGE AS A FRIEND”- Yemi Alade

Nigerian Singer Yemi Alade in an interview with Punch dismissed talks of a rivalry between herself and her colleagues Tiwa Savage, Seyi Shay and Chidinma.

She adds that she doesn’t consider Tiwa Savage as a friend. She said, “I don’t know why the media takes pleasure in putting great women against one another. Have you ever seen any text message from any of us lambasting another person? There’s no proof of these things; it’s just in the imagination of people. I’ve never stopped working and I was already working before Tiwa Savage came to Nigeria. I am a fan of their music, and on my Snapchat page, I usually dance to their songs. I do not consider Tiwa Savage a friend because I don’t know her favourite colour or meal and other intimate things. She is just my colleague”.

On her relationship, she said, ”Other than being an entertainer, I have my personal life. If I’m going to be in a relationship with someone in the same profession with me, I’d have to be deeply in love with the person’s personality. If the personality suits me, why not? Personally, I think I’m a reserved and nice girl. I’m also a hopeless romantic; movies easily make me cry. The last movie that made me cry was a cartoon in which a little dinosaur lost his mum.”
