Ghanaian actor and politician, John Dumelo has jumped to the defense of the former president, John Dramani Mahama over a controversial statement he made a few days ago about the next general elections.
John Mahama declared in an interview that “the 2024 elections will be a do-or-die affair, especially at the polling stations.”
John Dumelo in his attempt to throw more light on what Mahama said pointed out that didn’t mean violence in the the statement he made.
According to him, Mahama was only urging the party fanatics to be ready to match the New Patriotic Party (NPP) boot for boot in the 2024 elections.
He added that the statement “”do or die” made by Mahama means that the NDC has learnt from its mistakes and has put measures in place to prevent the party from being cheated the second time in 2024.
“Simply put, elections must be won at the polling stations. We will protect the ballot box with all we have. We won’t cheat but we won’t allow ourselves to be cheated,” His tweet read.
Popular actor and former NDC presidential candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo has offered his expertise to bring back to life the Komenda Sugar Factory if given the chance. The Komenda Sugar Factory which was established in 1964 became redundant and defunct over three decades ago due to technical difficulties and mismanagement.
Dumelo made this assertion following JoyNews editorial titled “Komenda Sugar Factory: A rusting investment” Taking to micro-blogging platform, Twitter, the father of one revealed how and the strategies he intends to adopt to revive the Komenda Sugar Factory given the nod to manage it.
“I can revive the Komenda sugar factory if given the mandate. That factory will start producing sugar within 16 months (Considering planting and harvesting of sugarcane). The factory needs about 200,000 tons of sugarcane(pa) to operate at full capacity. We can do it!”

Popular Ghanaian actor, businessman and politician John Dumelo has disclosed how much he makes from his farming business by just harvesting cabbages.
The illustrious entrepreneur harvest several crops but in a recent post on his Instagram page, he gave his fans and followers a brief breakdown of the revenue he earns from harvesting and selling cabbages every two to three months.
According to John Dumelo, he sells ever single head of cabbage for GH6 cedis which is equivalent to 1$ which could increase depending on the season and he sometimes harvests 3000 to 5000 pieces base on the size of land being used to grow the crops.
He indicated that after every harvest and making sales he makes about 5,000 (¢2,990) from the sales of the crop monthly.
He wrote, “Midyear Cabbage review: Cabbage takes 2.5-3 months to harvest…..you can harvest about 3000-5000 heads per acre depending on the spacing. Each head can be sold for about 6gh($1) depending on the season.’
Ghanaian actor and politician, John Dumelo has lamented over the term of rulership for leaders who are elected into power in Ghana.
John Dumelo in very recent tweet on his official Twitter page claimed that the 4-year term given to presidents to rule in the country does not give the president the room to be effective and efficient enough in his governance.
According to the former Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, the first year for an incoming government entails settling down in the office whereas the last year is focused on doing campaigns for the next elections leaving only 2 years for actual governance.
He suggested that instead of 4 years, we should consider assigning 5 years for successive governments to rule and administer the management of the country more effectively.
4 years is not enough for ANY President/ Gov to function effectively. The first year is used to settle down in the office and the last year for campaign, leaving only 2 years for effective work. We should consider 5 years per term.”
Ghanaian actor turned politician, John Dumelo ripped a communicator of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), apart for making se.xually suggestive comments about Farida Mahama, the daughter of former president, John Mahama.
The Director of Communications of the NPP in the UK, Nana Ansah Obofuor, took to his Twitter page and shared a photo of Farida and averred that she is ripe for men to make their advances at her and get her on their bed eventually.
Nana Ansah also kicked against the makeup he applied on her face pointing out that she is young to apply cosmetics to enhance her beauty and also claimed that her beauty is as a result of the money earned from the collection of tax by her father.

Legendary Ghanaian rapper, Kwaw Kese has penned down an emotional message to his friend and industry colleague, Castro as he is set to be declared dead by law following his disappearance.
Castro was declared missing in 2014 after he and his friend Janet Bandu took a ride on a Jetski on the beach at Aqua Safari inside Ada when they out to chill with former Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan.
Whilst the truth of the matter as to whether he and his accomplice drowned or not, Ghanaians are still in oblivion but the laws of the country indicates that when a person goes missing and he is not found after seven years, he or she must be declared dead.
His long-time friend, Kwaw Kese must have finally come to terms to the fact that Castro is no more and he took to his Instagram page and paid a touching tribute to him and according to him, it is very sad how it all ended up as he recalled the collaborations they made together.

Actor John Dumelo is still doing active political campaign amidst the COVID-19 outbreak and he has rated sitting President, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo’s leadership as “shambolic” so far.
Dumelo who is currently aspiring to become NDC’s parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency in the upcoming 2020 polls, in a current interview said Nana Akufo-Addo’s governance is more talk and less achievement especially when is comes the area of infrastructure.
“The work he has done so far; I think it is just a bit shambolic. The truth of the matter is that they borrow too much and yet there is nothing to show”.
John added that President Akufo-Addo and his government have done very little when it comes infrastructure as compared to what former President John Mahama did.
“What former President John Mahama did was infrastructure. When you are walking in town, you can confidently say John Mahama did this, did this and did that. But the truth of the matter is that we are sitting on money but we are still hungry and people don’t have money in their pockets”.
Asked what he would do for the creative arts industry if he goes to parliament, John said “As a whole, doing something for the industry might take certain steps or might take sometime but if you are vocal on the floor of parliament and you are championing the course of the plight of the people, then you see that you are doing thing and putting pressure on the government. So for me getting into parliament, every single day I will be championing the course of my creative industry people so that things will get better”.
John also spoke about his “One student, one scholarship” policy among other things.
Affable Ghanaian actor and Politician, John Dumelo has revealed one of his major plans for his constituents, if he is voted as member of parliament.
The “Baby Thief” actor in an exclusive interview with Ola Michael on Neat FM’s Entertainment GH, said he will give scholarships to brilliant but needy students within his constituency If voted into power.
The Ayawaso West Wuogon NDC Parliamentary candidate stated that his educational policy for his people is ‘One Student One Scholarship’.
He explained that he will make sure every student in his constituency has access to quality education as far as he is member of parliament for the area.
Asked how he will finance his ‘One Student One Scholarship’ policy, the hopeful and optimistic John Dumelo stated that he piloted this policy way back in 2012 so it won’t be difficult for him to deliver his promise adding that he has being financing scholarships for students since 2012 with money from his John Dumelo foundation.
John Dumelo emphasized that education, sanitation and security are his top priority for him as an aspiring Member of Parliament.
