Award winning Broadcast Journalist/Feminist Gifty Anti and her husband Oyekechire Ansah Kwaw – Chief of Adumasa, have officially outdoored their royal baby as tradition demands.

The much-talked about naming ceremony of the baby of Nana Ansah Kwao IV, Chief of Edumasa in the Eastern Region and his wife Gifty Anti took place Sunday October 15, 2017 at Edumasa in the Eastern region.

The ceremony, which started as early as 7am, had both Traditional and Christian elements, was well-attended with some list of dignitaries including former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, satirist Kwaku Sintim Misa (KSM), Becca, Ceccy Twum, Afia, KOD and Mr. George Owusu, former CEO of EO Group.

The programme, which was the first of its kind in the community, witnessed a colourful cultural display, coincided with the two years marriage anniversary celebration.

Gifty Anti carried the baby and sat next to the queen mother Nana Afrakoma till she was called to hand the baby to the Chairman of the Council of Elders to carry on the naming rituals, which was followed by administering of honey, water and wine instructing the baby to uphold truth and integrity throughout her life.

After that, the baby was given back to her mother who passed her on to the Queen mother to decorate her with bracelets, as she performed while speaking words of wisdom and inspiration to her.

Some selected elderly guests were given the opportunity to speak words of inspiration to the newborn baby, which included Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings and Mr. George Owusu, bringing the traditional part to an end.

After that, the royal couple was ushered into the ceremonial grounds to begin the Christian naming ceremony and refreshment. Two magnificent cakes donated by Curious Cakes, a subsidiary of EKGS Culinary Institute, were cut to climax both naming ceremony and wedding anniversary.

In accordance with tradition, the celebrity couple outdoored their first child together close to two weeks after the birth of the baby girl was announced.

The popular TV Host outdoored her new child in a plush ceremony at the hometown of her husband, Nana Ansah Kwaw.

The outdooring ceremony, which was held at the Adumasa Traditional Area in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region, was reportedly a strictly by invitation event and only attended by the creme de la creme. A picture from the outdooring ceremony shows Gifty Anti clad in an all-white with a beaming smile as she clutched on to the “Princess of Adumasa”.

Broadcast Journalist Gifty Anti has safely welcomed her first child.

The host of weekly television talk show ‘Stand Point’, Gifty Anti became a mother for the first time, on Friday, August  11, 2017.

According to, the 47-year-old Broadcaster delivered a bubbly girl at an undisclosed medical facility in Accra.

Gifty’s first child becomes the fourth for her husband, Oyekechire Ansah Kwaw, the Chief of Adumasa Traditional Area in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern region.

The ‘Princess of Adumasa’ as she is expected to be named in a couple of days according to a source close to the family, already has three siblings from her father’s side who are currently residing in the United Kingdom.

Two years ago Gifty Anti got married to Nana Ansah Kwaw IV, host of PM Express on Joy News Channel on Multi TV as well as ‘That’s my opinion’ on Joy 99.7 FM.

The ‘Royal Wedding’ ceremony took place at Aburi and was attended by the bride’s and groom’s families, as well as members of the media fraternity.

The host of the Standpoint programme; which discusses issues affecting women on Ghana Television (GTV), was seen heavily pregnant  weeks ago to stoke media interest in the baby’s arrival.

The naming of the ‘Royal Baby’ is expected to take place at Adumasa in the usual traditional customs and attendance will be strictly by invitation.


Gifty Anti, 47, got married in 2015 to the chief of Akwamu Adumasa, Nana Ansah Kwaw IV, in a colourful wedding which was dubbed ‘the Royal Wedding’.

However, the couple have had to wait for two years to welcome their first baby.

On Friday, news broke that the ace broadcaster had taken seed, and is expecting a baby girl with her husband. Further reports suggest that she is already seven months pregnant, with preparations already far ahead in anticipation of the arrival of the ‘Royal baby’.

But speaking at the annual Women Praise Concert dubbed ‘Women called to Worship’, as part the 9th anniversary of her TV show ‘The Standpoint’, Gifty Anti was all joy, disclosing that she never imagined getting pregnant when she first got married.

She revealed that “my husband and I had a long conversation about the possibility of pregnancy before we married and he was content with the fact that we may never have children.”

She also had some kind words for the family of her husband, saying she was very appreciative of their patience over the last two years even when there were doubts over whether she could ever be pregnant.

“I thank God for the family of my husband for their immense understanding through it all. I never had to go through the agony other people went through,” she added.

Gifty Anti has been the long-time host of The Standpoint programme on GTV and joined a host of other influential women on the ‘Women Praise Concert’ to share their testimonies, so as to help inspire the growing generation.

The concert was also graced by Ohemaa Mercy, Becky Bonnie and Cynthia McColley.

Rumour had it that news anchor and media personality, Gifty Anti once dated ex Prez Kuffour. Well, Gifty Anti has times without number tried to explain to all and sundry that nothing of a sort happened between her and Prez Kuffour but it seemed critics are still doubting her claims.

In an interview with Hitz FM, when asked about whether she once had something to do with Prez Kuffour, she said,

“I’m tired of answering questions with regards to whether or not Prez Kuffour had something to do with me. I’ve advised myself never to answer questions like that. The man has really worked hard, let’s allow the man to have his own peace.”

She continued, “I’m now married to the swagalious and a handsome husband who is a chief. I’m not answering those questions again. I’m happily married now and that’s it.”

After their highly publicized royal wedding, Broadcast Journalist Gifty Anti and her husband Nana Ansah Kwao IV on Sunday October 25 had the blessing of their union.

The couple had their blessing at the Holy Trinity Baptist Church in Accra. The congregation welcomed the couple with excitement since the blessing was the official introduction of the newly married to the church, since their wedding was mostly traditional and royal.

The ceremony was hosted by the head pastor of the Trinity Baptist Church, Rev. Kingsley Appiagyei, who led the couple in their exchange of vows.

The church was over-filled as everyone wanted to grasp a glimpse of the new celebrity couple. The blessing ceremony for the couple was witnessed by family and friends.

The award-winning media personality on the show disclosed that she has heard a lot of people talk evil against her size but she is not worried anymore as she used to years ago because she gets paid at the end of the month.

The Hitz FM presenter told the newly married TV host, Gifty Anti that she mostly blocks people who talk ill about her on social media in order to have time for her job. Amanda Jissih who said she has blocked over 100 contacts on whatsapp said she loves her body and nothing will make her change. The 100 people she said included her relatives, fans and unknown persons who constantly give negative comments about her size.

Touching on the lifestyle of some Ghanaian celebrities on social media networks, the E-Talk on Gh One host said most Ghanaian celebrities buy followers on social media networks. Amanda on the TV show said the numbers we see on some fanpages of Ghanaian celebrities are not real but they do that for a good reason.

According to the actress and musician, companies will contract a celebrity with huge followers on social media networks to advertise their products than signing a person with few followers as a brand ambassador. This she said leads to some celebrities buying followers on Facebook, twitter, instagram and other platforms.

Amanda Jissih further said these celebrities do that because “we want to make money and if that is the only to make money, then we will do it”

She also said some Ghanaian celebrities pay bloggers to publish bad stories in order to bring attention on them. Amanda Jissih advised that Ghanaian female celebrities should not comment on all bad publications they read about their works. To her, there are certain stories that they should not comment but let it die its natural death.

Feminist, Philanthropist and Broadcast Journalist Gifty Anti and Broadcaster and Chief Nana Ansah Kwao’s trending royal wedding is now history.

The royal wedding started from a residence in East Legon and ended at The Place event center in Aburi in the Eastern region.

The colourful event was one of royalty as the chiefs and people of Akwamu came out in style to support Nana Ansah Kwao and his bride who now goes by the stool name, Nana Dansoa.

Pictures of the couple dressed in their rich Kente cloths have flooded that media and now bring you pictures of who was there to grace their special day.

The wedding was attended by several personalities including politicians, businessmen, senior media personalities, Musicians, Movie stars and other high profile personalities.
