Celebrity gossip blog, Nkonkonsa, has picked two influential blog awards for being one of the most highly patronised showbiz platforms in Ghana.
The blog’s CEO, Eugene Osafo-Nkansah, won blogger of the year at the Ghana High School Legend Awards held at the National Theatre in Accra on Friday, August 31.
Simdos Entertainment Services, organisers of the event, indicated that they did a survey in over 40 senior high schools across the country and Nkonkonsa.com came up as the platform that most high school students visit for information online.
The award was an honorary one because Nkonkonsa stood tall above all other Ghanaian social media platforms as far as high school students are concerned.
A week later, he also won the best events blogger of the year at the Ghana Events Awards 2018, which took place at the Suzuki, CFAO showroom at Airport in Accra on Friday, September 7, 2018.
Nkonkonsa was nominated alongside some 15 other bloggers.
Nkonkonsa is described an award-winning celebrity gossip, news and tourism online platform.
It was established in 2015 by Eugene Osafo-Nkansah, who is an entertainment journalist and radio producer.
Speaking on Angel TV Wednesday evening, Eugene disclosed that the actress’ constant silence on vital issues about her does not help the showbiz industry.
According to him on The Purple Room show, Nadia Buari does not react to allegations concerning her brand and that makes his job as a journalist challenging.
Even though Mr. Osafo-Nkansah believes keeping quiet over some controversial issues is the best, he also thinks the actress should at times let her fans know the truth in rumours they hear.
Giving series of issues the “Beyonce” actress should have spoken for the public to know the truth in them, Eugene Osafo-Nkansah named the case of her rumoured relationship with Jim Iyke and her alleged “pono” video which went viral many years ago.
He further said the silence of public figures on certain issues gives room for the public to make wrong conclusion which affects their brands negatively.
The Wednesday, October 18 edition of Purple Room show on Angel TV was for bloggers to talk about how they go about their duties. Panelists on the show hosted by Nana Akua included Zionfelix, Eugene Osafo-Nkansah, Dan Lartey and Xerda.
Speaking to Peacefmonline.com in an exclusive interview, Lawyer Ampaw affirmed that though he is no longer counsel for Mr Abrokwa, the rumors that he has been fired is inaccurate.
He also confirmed reports that he was not in court today (Wednesday) to defend his client.
“I have dropped that case for my own personal reasons. I don’t want to be part of the legal team any longer because I realized I was becoming too emotional and I don’t want to have any problems whatsoever with Afia Schwarzenegger and Abrokwa. So left the case and I handed it over to a colleague learned friend to handle,” he disclosed.
According to Lawyer Ampaw, he was never in the employ of Lawrence Abrokwa, for which reason he (Abrokwa) can fire him.
“Abrokwa never retained me so how can he fire me? I took up the case and volunteered to help him because he is my old friend. How much did he pay me? Can he even pay me? Abrokwa hasn’t paid me any thing and I didn’t take anything from him but I don’t want to be part of the case any more; that’s all.”
He revealed that his colleague Lawyer Anthony Namoo is Lawrence Abroakwa’s new counsel, who might defend him from now till the case it over.
The case has been adjourned to Monday October 30, 2017.
Mr. Abrokwa is facing five charges including domestic violence with emotional, verbal and psychological abuse, publication of obscene material, assault and threat of harm.
In a related development, Afia Schwarzenegger posted a video standing at the court premises insisting that Lawyer Maurice Ampaw has been fired.
