Screen goddessYvonne Nelson believes President Akufo-Addo needs more time to be able to fulfil his campaign promises.
Yvonne has said that Ghanaians should be patient with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, as he turns the country around for the better, movie producer and actress Yvonne Nelson has said.
The “Tomorrow Never Comes” actress said President Akufo-Addo has two more years to end his first term of office and, therefore, still has time to fix things.
Ms Nelson told TV3 News on Tuesday, 5 February 2019 that she once complained that times were hard under the Akufo-Addo administration after she realised the cost of commodities had gone up.
“But I believe he still has time and, so, let us be patient with him,” she said regarding the performance of the president.
She added that “He still has two more years to go”, so Ghanaian should be patient for him to finish his four-year term.
Actor John Dumelo has congratulated President elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
John who is a strong supporter of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and campaigned passionately for President John Dramani Mahama prior to the December 7, elections has accepted defeat after his candidate lost to Akufo-Addo.
Few minutes after Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was officially declared winner of the elections, John took to Facebook to congratulate his new President.
“We fought a good fight… but the people have spoken. Congrats to president elect Nana Akufo Addo “.
John was one of the several celebrities who endorsed President Mahama ahead o the elections.
Nana Addo was declared the winner of the 2016 elections after a keenly contested elections. He polled 5,716,026 to beat incumbent President John Mahama who had 4,713, 277.
According to Electoral Commission statistics, Nana Akufo-Addo recorded 53.85% of the total votes cast as against 44.40 by President Mahama.
