Former Black Stars player, Michael Essien, has taken a bow as he has deleted his post that called for support for the LGBQTI community following the heavy backlash by Ghanaians.
Michael Essien took to his Instagram page and sympathized with lesbians, gays and bisexuals over the shut down of their officer in Accra and the declaration by President Akufo Addo that same sex marriage will not be legalized in the country under his watch.
“We see you, we hear you, we support you. Our LGBTQIA plus Community in Ghana #ghanasupportequalityGH,” he wrote.
His post generated an outrage among Ghanaians and social media and they lambasted him for supporting the LGBTQ community and hours after his post, the Chelsea legend has pulled down the post from his Instagram account as he can’t withstand the heat anymore.
