RAPPER MEDIKAL DATING ACTRESS FELLA MAKAFUI?

A new photo shared by rapper Medikal has fuelled rumours that he could be dating actress Fella Makafui.

The rapper shared the photo following reports that his relationship with musician Deborah Vanessa (Sister Deborah) has ended.

“My bestie de lie me but I still de listen,” he captioned the photo in his post on Instagram.

He again shared another selfie taken by the actress while in an elevator at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel with friends. “Friends I chose to get stuck in an elevator with ..,” Medikal said.

Neither the rapper nor the actress has come out to publicly admit that they are in a relationship although speculations about their affair are rife.

Both Medikal and Sister Derby have remained mute on rumours that they are no longer an item.

Recently during an interview on The Cosmopolitan Mix on Joy FM with Sammy Forson, Deborah Vanessa revealed that the age gap between and Medikal was initially an issue for her.

The two, who had been dating for about two years now, had been described as the country’s Bonnie and Clyde.

When their relationship became an item, many raised concerns over the age difference between them, particularly because Sister Deborah is almost a decade older.

Sister Deborah, who is 34, said the age difference “mattered me at the beginning when we started talking… [but]… he assured me that he wasn’t worried about it.”

Asked how their love journey began, Medikal, who is 26, recounted that they “actually met on Twitter.”

“He saw me clapping back at [replying] someone…he retweeted and said ‘herh you fool waaa’,” Sister Deborah said. “He slipped into my DM for work stuff.”

They, however, started taking things seriously when they “met at a radio station and we started talking.”

During that interview, Medikal and Sister Deborah said contrary to perceptions that their relationship won’t last, they “are taking it long term.”

ASAMOAH GYAN FILES FOR DIVORCE & DEMANDS DNA TEST FOR THEIR 3 KIDS

Ghanaian footballer and captain of the Ghana Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan has allegedly filed for divorce from his wife, Gifty Gyan, at the Divorce and Matrimonial Division of the High Court, Accra.

The footballer has also denied fathering their three children and is demanding a DNA test to be carried out on all three to ascertain if he is the father of the children.

Gyan and his wife Gifty have not seen eye to eye in the last few months, but the desire of the Black Stars captain to officially terminate the five-year marriage is a clear indication that their differences have now become irreconcilable.

The news outlet is also reliably informed that the footballer, who filed for divorce in August this year is currently making preparation to marry an Accra-based business woman, once his marriage to Gifty is annulled by the court.

Although Gyan has had a ‘scandal-laden’ career, he has successfully shielded his wife and three children from the public eye and media scrutiny.

Details of why Asamoah Gyan’s marriage to Gifty has hit the rocks are unknown but sources close to the estranged wife say Gyan grew cold towards Gifty after another woman came into his life.

The said woman was in June this year mistaken for Asamoah Gyan’s wife at the grand opening of his new sports bar located in Osu, Accra.

Interestingly, the same lady was mentioned as Asamoah Gyan’s wife when Emmanuel ‘Game Boy’ Tagoe fought his last bout in defense of his IBO World title this month.

She was also spotted in town with the footballer when he came to Ghana recently for his summer vacation. When rumors started making the rounds earlier this year about a possible love-affair between Gyan and the said woman, the business woman denied it.

She explained that her relationship with Gyan was purely professional as she owns a property that houses one of Gyan’s companies. But investigation by GhanaWeb reveals that the relationship between the business woman and Asamoah Gyan is beyond ‘landlord- tenant’ relationship as the two are currently courting and set to marry after his divorce to his current wife Gifty Gyan.

The latest indication of the current troubles in the marriage was the alleged seizure of Gifty’s passport by Baffour Gyan, who is the elder brother of Asamoah Gyan, to supposedly prevent her from returning to Asamoah’s residence in the United Kingdom.

Gyan and Gifty have been together since 2003 and got married in 2013 after their second child was born. Sources close to Asamoah Gyan confirmed GhanaWeb’s story but declined to comment publicly.

POSTING SEMI-NUDE PHOTOS PAYS MORE THAN ACTING – Actress Jessica Larny

Ghanaian model and actress, Jessica Larny, has received a lot of insults since she revealed that she is a boudoir photography model but says she is not perturbed because that pays her even more than acting.

Wikipedia defines boudoir photography as a photographic style featuring intimate, romantic, and sometimes erotic images of its subjects in a photographic studio, bedroom or private dressing room environment which means Jessica sometimes models semi-nude.

This is what has earned her insults, but according to Jessica, what she earned in a shoot was much bigger than what she made from acting in Ghana the whole year.

“See, the truth is that actors in Ghana are not being paid well, we are taken for granted and those who will pay you will even delay the payment.

“How do they expect us to feed? You work and you virtually have to beg to be paid money that is due you, I mean how?

“Ever since I came out to talk about the boudoir shoots and posted pictures on my social media handles, people have come out to insult and call me all kinds of names.

“Those who cannot get to me personally, send me messages in my inbox saying all kinds of things to me but I do not care.

“I need to fend for myself and my family so instead of selling my body to do that, I engage in something that I have passion for.

“If going half-naked or doing these shoots will put food on my table which it does anyway, I will do it, it is also a job,” she told Showbiz.

Asked how frequently she got offers to do the boudoir shoots, Jessica said, “for this year alone, I have done three jobs and they are huge ones, I did one in Kenya, Ghana and London.

“For the acting, I have done a number of them which came through recommendations or from producers or directors who watched my work but the bottom line is that, boudoir shoots pay my bills.”

Jessica, who is also a masseuse, says she will be embarking on a stress-free campaign where she intends to educate people on the need to take massage seriously as a stress reliever.

“In this part of our world, unfortunately for us, all we know is work and if we want to take time off and de-stress, it has to be taking a vacation to go and drink, eat, dance etc but the stress has to do with the body, the nerves etc.

“They are the parts that are affected so we have to take massage seriously. Next week, I am starting my first massage session by going to the homes of celebrities and giving them massages.”

A graduate of the Central University College, Jessica Larny is a Miss Teen Ghana. She has featured in movies such as Stalemate, True Lies, I Do and The Table and has also played roles in a number of series which have aired on TV and online.

DUBAI-BASED BUSINESSWOMAN THREATENS TO SUE KING PROMISE

A Dubai-based businesswoman who allegedly invested in the career of King Promise, is sticking to her decision to drag the musician to court.

A disappointed Yasmin Behzadi, reacting to a press release by the musician, rubbished accusations that she called him “a waste product” forcing him to leave her label.

“How can I be calling him a waste product…a product I believed in…” and invested some much money in, the businesswoman said on Hitz FM Wednesday.

Her response follows King Promise’s statement on Monday, October 22, denying claims by Yasmin that he had neglected her.

According to the musician, he was forced to leave the businesswoman because she called him a “waste product”.

The statement was after Ms. Behzadi threatened legal action after being sidelined by the musician whose career she claimed, she pumped so much money to help build. Famed for being the woman behind rapper Sarkodie’s clothing line, Sark Collection, the businesswoman is angry that King Promise does not recognise her for her immense contribution to his career.

She narrated that, after signing him and helping change his name from ‘Boy P’ to King Promise, she set up YB Records to help push the talented musician’s music.

According to her, she spent in excess of $150,000 on high budget music videos shoots in Dubai, travel expenses, luxury cars, Hollywood producers, and promotions.

But reacting to the allegations, King Promise said in a statement that, “Her [Yasmin Behzadi] claims of spending $150,000 was due to her own unilateral decisions and luxurious lifestyles, even if she indeed has spent that much.”

The statement alleged that the businesswoman treated the musician like a “puppet” and “Yasmin gave up along the line when her financial expectations were not being met, to the extent of calling King Promise ‘a waste product’.”

Reacting further to King Promise’s statement, Yasmin told Andy Dosty, host of Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM that although “we all have our differences” she can’t call him a “waste product” because he was “a product I believed in from day one.”

“I used to tell him that when you leave the house, make sure you look nice,” she said adding that she used to send him clothes for him look good.

The businesswoman wondered if her advise to the musician to ensure he does not get any woman pregnant, is what makes “him feel I made him a puppet?”

Ms. Behzadi accused King Promise of being untruthful saying “he has forgotten that we signed a 360 deal… he should come out and tell the truth.”

According to her, she flew King Promise to Dubai, put him in a five-star hotel, recorded songs and shot high budget videos.

“Did he think it was going to be for free,” Yasmin asked.

“I’m not trying to take credit for Killbeatz and his hard work for King Promise,” she said. She, however, believes she deserves her due for her investments in the musician’s career.

“How can you be investing in a project and expect not to get returns on the investment…I don’t have an intention to bring the boy down….my intention is to fight for my right,” she said.

“If I wanted to bring Promise down, I would have done that a long time ago,” she added.

King Promise she said, signed to Killbeatz without her permission and “you had to go by law”.

“Maybe Killbeatz didn’t know that he had a 360 deal with me…,” she suggested.

Yasmin, forwarded to Andy Dosty, text messages King Promise allegedly sent to her on Nov 8, 2016, in which he promised buying her a car as a gratitude for all her investments.

In the said message, the musician acknowledged what she had done for him and told her not to feel he was cutting her off.

“We are going to meet in court…if you want to be greedy….then the only option is to go to court,” she threatened.

“John Jnr @johnd_jnr I’m glad you have finally arrived. It’s been months, weeks, days and hours of waiting…..You look just like we imagined. Infectious smile, bright eyes, curly hair and chocolate skin. Before I get all emotional and write a whole book, lemme let you have these few words to guide you. You can do anything you want and be whoever you want to be just like how my dad allowed me to explore….Never give up. Always aspire to be better and do better than before. Be a beacon of kindness and truth in this world. Don’t have hate in your heart or carry grudges. It is not worth the time and effort it takes when there are so many things in this world to enjoy and love. Do not let others influence who you choose to be, both as a person and in a career, because it is not their life to live, it is yours and it is the most beautiful thing. Think outside the box JJ. Be a risk taker just like I am and don’t be afraid to fail. Failure gives you experience. Use that experience to conquer the world. Let God be your best friend and let Him guide your steps. I will start reading the Bible to you soon and that’s when you will understand how mysterious God works. And one last thing….I really don’t know how to change diapers, so please don’t laugh when that’s happening. I want to be better than my father….and I want you to be greater than me. Love, John Setor Dumelo, your Dad”.

I WAS DISAPPOINTED AFTER WATCHING 10 GHANAIAN MOVIES – Gabby Otchere-Darko

A well respected member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has denigrated the somewhat already suffering movie industry in Ghana.

He has expressed his disappointment with some Ghanaian movies he watched recently.

Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, who is also a confidante of President Nana Addo Dankwa-Akufo Addo, says he felt disheartened after watching 10 random Ghanaian movies.

He expressed his opinion in a facebook below as shared unedited below:

I took my time to watch randomly ten Ghanaian movies and never felt so disappointed. It brought home to me one major deficiency in our development. The apparent lack of deliberate consciousness on the part of the creative industry in the development conversation. The presence of the creative industry appears at best peripheral in Ghana’s development narrative. Our movies, our songs, our arts, by and large, do not impactfully plug into a greater development agenda. Hollywood, for the best part of a century, has been deliberately used by America to push successfully American cultural “supremacy” agenda; it has been used as an effective instrument of military or economic indoctrination. But, what has been the underlying consciousness behind our creative industry, if any?

What role, for instance, can actors in the creative industry play to define and realize this whole important concept of moving Ghana Beyond Aid? We must elevate consciousness in Ghana if we are serious about winning”.
