Songstress Efya has warned people within her circles not to pressure her over marriage. She said she will not allow herself to be pushed into marriage or to start a family.

“When I get to when I’m ready to do those things, I’ll do them. If you pressure me I’ll stop picking up your phone calls and I’ll block you,”she told Giovani and Berla Mundi on the Starr Drive.

“They (Family) don’t bring it to me because I told them a long time ago not to pressure me to have kids, or to get married, none of those things,” she added.

When asked if she is scared of divorce, she said “I’m not scared of divorce, I’m scared of the whole process of marriage. Right now in our generation, there is no fear for loyalty, there is no honesty. Everybody is lying to eachother, there is no commitment”.

“Mental health illness is on the rise, depression is on the rise. Let’s tell each other how we feel so that we can actually be free,” Efya stressed.

The songstress was recently adjudged women of the year award in music by Glitz Magazine. Efya is set to hold an awareness walk and breast cancer screening on October 20.

The First Lady of the United States of America, Mrs. Melania Trump, has arrived in Ghana today Tuesday, October 2, 2018 to start a four-country tour of Africa.

Mrs Trump’s plane touched down at the Jubilee lounge of the KIA at exactly 10:06 am on Tuesday.

The US first lady was welcomed by the First Lady of Ghana Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo with traditional drummers and dancers at the Kotoka International Airport in the capital, Accra.

But another compared her unfavourably to former First Lady Michelle Obama who was warmly received with her husband on a trip in 2009.

She will leave Ghana on October 4 and visit Malawi, Kenya and Egypt, to promote the First Lady’s ‘Be Best’ campaign, which she launched in May 2018.

The campaign is aimed at promoting the well-being of the youth and also advocates against cyberbullying and drug use, in Africa.

Mrs Trump announced her visit at a reception for spouses of world leaders, held on the sidelines of the 73rd United Nations General Assembly, in New York.

The visit is being organised in partnership with the United States Aid Agency (USAID) and will involve the four countries, described by Mrs Trump as ‘four beautiful and very different countries in Africa’, who have worked closely with the USAID in various areas.

On March 20, she met with top executives of technology companies including Amazon, Google, Twitter, Snap and Facebook, to discuss the issue of cyberbullying and how it affects children.

Mrs Trump, born Melanija Knavs in Novo Mesto, Slovenia, on April 26, 1970, is the wife of Donald Trump, who was sworn in as the 45th President of the United States of America in January 2017.

Melania moved to the US in 1996 to pursue her modelling career and became a US citizen in 2006 after she married Donald Trump in 2005.

She is the first naturalized and second foreign-born US citizen to become the First Lady, after Louisa Adams, wife of the sixth president, John Quincy Adams.

Mrs Trump came from a humble background, born to an Austrian father, Viktor Knavs, who worked as a car dealer, and a Slovenian mother, Amalija, who worked as a patternmaker at children’s clothing manufacturer, Jutranjka, in Sevnica.

Ghanaian actress and movie producer Yvonne Nelson has vowed she will go all out to protect her baby daughter, Ryn, from people who say unpleasant things about her.

The actress survived a lot of controversy for getting pregnant for her UK photographer boyfriend, Jamie Roberts, and eventually giving birth to a baby girl.

Many social media commentators and some mainstream media questioned the rationale behind her decision to give birth before getting married and why choosing her photographer boyfriend.

Others simply passed a straight verdict on her decision, describing it as “immoral”.

But hanging out with the 2018 Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB) contestants on Tuesday, the award-winning actress indicated that she is personally unfazed about news stories that put her in a bad light.

She stated, however, that she will not take it lightly with people who try to involve her daughter in those stories.

“But I don’t really care about negative stories. I think I’m used to it. People just want to sell their newspapers and whatever, so you just leave them but if you talk about my baby, I will come for you.”

She narrated an instance where she had taken on someone – whose identity she failed to disclose – for making some “unpleasant” commentary about her baby.

“Like the recent one that happened: I don’t want to mention his name but he was talking about the baby,” she told the ladies.

“He kept making very weird comments about her and the last one I just felt it was too much so my lawyer wrote to him and he retracted and apologized.”

She explained that the name of her daughter is a combination of the initials of her boyfriend and her own names – Robert and Yvonne Nelson (RYN) – and that she wants her daughter to have her parents’ names with her wherever she goes.

She used the opportunity to advise the ladies who are vying for the GMB 2018 cash, car and crown never to give up on their pursuits in life even if they fail the first time.

The 10 ladies, who were unveiled Sunday, September 16 at Takoradi, were ushered into the GMB Reality House on Monday and are poised for action.

After the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) directed Gold trading firm Menzgold to shut down its operations, a number of personalities have publicly declared their support for the company and its owner.

The latest to join that list of personalities, supporting Nana Appiah Mensah, CEO of Menzgold, is rapper Sarkodie.

Sarkodie, who is a known friend of Mr Mensah, has vouched for his credibility. Rapper Sarkodie says Nana Appiah Mensah genuinely cares about Ghana.

In a tweet, the rapper said, “One man doing the most for our beloved country 🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭 knowing him personally he genuinely cares about the country’s progress … might not know the ins and outs but one thing is for sure – the Nam1 mission is for a better Ghana 🙏🏾 Bless @mn_appiah”.

The SEC had said that Menzgold had been dealing in the purchase and deposit of gold collectables from the public and issuing contracts with guaranteed returns with clients, without a valid license from the Commission.

The business, according to SEC, is in contravention of “Section 109 of Act 929 with consequences under section 2016 (I) of the same Act.”

Meanwhile, Menzgold has urged its customers to keep calm despite the directive from the SEC.

The gold dealership expressed disappointment in the regulator for leaking to the public, its directive to the company in spite of their cooperation and submission to investigations into their business.

Actress Benedicta Gafah, in a video, assured all customers of Menzgold to remain calm. She noted that their gold deposit is safe.

The song rides on the slogan “nyame nsa wo mu” and was inspired by instructions in the Book of Mark and Ecclesiastes which stresses: “Go into the entire world and preach the gospel to all creation…” and “…remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, I find no pleasure in them”.
