SALARIES SHOULD ALSO INCREASE AS EVERYTHING KEEPS INCREASING IN GHANA – Efia Odo

Ghanaian television presenter and actress, Andrea Owusu affectionately called Efia Odo has taken to the streets of Twitter to utter her displeasure with the state of the Ghanaian economy.

Efia Odo who has been vociferous about issues in Ghana as she usually speaks on her governance and hardship and was instrumental in the ‘Fix TThe Country’ campaign in 2021 lamented that the salaries of citizens are not increasing despite the exponential degree of inflation in the country.

Sighted on her verified Twitter page, Efia Odo bemoaned that prices of goods and services are going up by the hour but salaries are not doing the same thus making living conditions unbearable in Ghana.

According to the socialite, this phenomenon is sad.

AWARDS DON’T EXCITE ME ANYMORE – Samini

Samini, the Ghanaian Reggae/dancehall artiste has made a statement following the loss he incurred at the just-ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

He has stated boldly that winning awards is not the ultimate for him now and for that matter doesn’t excite him anymore since they wouldn’t help him at this stage of his music career.

The dancehall legend missed out on two significant awards at the just-ended VGMAs and quickly pointed out that it is crucial for those coming up to win such an award since it will go a long to help them gain confidence in what they do.

During an interview after the event, he mentioned that gone are the days when he loved to be awarded and would have been hurt if it was those days but he is now content with what he has achieved in music so far and a losing an award won’t take anything away from his success in music.

Samini was nominated in the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year and Reggae/Dancehall Song categories but lost them all to Stonebwoy and KiDi.

DR. BAWUMIA GIVES GH¢20,000 TO TAXI DRIVER WHO RETURNED MISSING GH¢8,400 TO MARKET WOMAN

When taxi driver, Kwesi Ackon, returned GH¢8,400 a passenger left in his car, he did not know that his honesty was about to pay off.

Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia donated GH¢20,000 to him after his act of honesty went viral.

On Wednesday morning, a video surfaced on social media of the moment Mr. Ackon returned the money to the owner. The owner of the money and her family are seen in the video weeping and thanking the taxi driver for saving their lives.

One of them is heard saying they could not sleep because of the missing money.

Touched by the video and the taxi driver’s honesty, the Editor-in-Chief of The Fourth Estate, Manasseh Azure Awuni, suggested on Facebook that something be done to reward the taxi driver beyond words of appreciation.

A number of people reacted to the Facebook post and reached out, willing to help.

Among them was Vice President Dr Bawumia, who donated GH¢20,000 to reward Mr. Ackon for his honesty and exemplary show of integrity.

Manasseh presented an additional GH¢2,500 from two other unnamed donors, making the total of GH¢22,500.

It pays to be honest, they say. But Kwesi Ackon did not believe it can be that literal.

FRIED YAM SELLER BURNT TO DEATH AT APAM IN FIRE OUTBREAK

An aged woman who sells fried yam at Apam in the Central Region has been burnt to ashes in a fire incident.

The woman, Comfort Arhin per information gathered was by the roadside frying her yam on a coal pot when two men transporting a barrel containing premix fuel towards the Apam Roundabout passed by.

The barrel which was being rolled on the floor by the two men to transport the fuel caught fire from the coal pot and burst into a huge flame.

The 69-year-old fried yam seller unfortunately was lighted up instantly and burnt to death.

The two men who were transporting the fuel were also not spared. Both men sustained injuries from the fire and have been hospitalized in critical condition.

They were fortunate to escape after people in the area managed to douse the fire with buckets of water.

Subsequently, personnel from the National Fire Service arrived on the scene to get things under control.

Amid wailing, the burnt body of the deceased woman was conveyed and deposited at the Winneba Special and Trauma Hospital Mortuary.

Fashion critic Charlie Dior has taken Kuami Eugene to the cleaners over his ‘Donda’ look for just-ended VGMAs.

Kuami Eugene on the first day of the just-ended VGMA landed on the netizen’s table of trolls following the outfit he was seen wearing on the VGMA red carpet.

While most of them were applauded for nailing it, Kuami Eugene was not spared for the outfit he wore that many have described as ‘wack’.

Kuami Eugene donned an all-black ‘Daily Paper’ outfit but according to netizens, they are not impressed with the musician’s dress as he always does it in a way that attracts t negative publicity.

Many were of the view that he copied Kanye West’s ‘Donda’ look but according to fashion critic, Charlie Dior, Kuami Eugene’s appearance made him look like a criminal and made the Daily Paper designer attire look like a toilet paper.

Outstanding Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson has claimed that she has never had an encounter with the laws of the land in her life.

According to her, she has never been arrested by the police in real life nor has she been dragged to court over an accusation or offense in her life.

Speaking in an interview on Adom TV on the Ahosepe Xtra show monitored by ghanamma.com, Yvonne Nelson revealed that she has only been arrested in her movies but never has that materialized in real life.

I don’t I have been arrested before, I only get arrested in movies. In movies, they always arrest me but never in real life”, she said.

 

BEING LEFT OUT OF THIS YEAR’S VGMA DOES NOT MEAN MY CAREER IS DECLINING– Kweku Flick

Rapper, Kweku Flick, has restated that not been nominated for any award at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) does not indicate his career is on a nosedive.

The Kumasi-based artiste, who broke onto Ghana’s music scene in 2019, got nominations in last year’s edition of the VGMAs with the hit song ‘Money’.

Prior to the 23rd edition of the awards, he pointed out that he was not disappointed for not being nominated for any category this year.

“Missing out on this year’s VGMA doesn’t mean my career is sinking because everything is about time in this world.

“The way I didn’t get nominations in this year’s edition of the VGMA, I might be actively involved in next year’s edition, who knows?

He is, however, optimistic about being selected for the subsequent edition of the awards.

“So, I’m hopeful that next year by this time we’ll be talking about my nominations so everything is about time,” he added on Cape Coast-based Kastle FM.

Although he strongly believes he will play a part in next year’s event, he indicated that it will solely be based on his output.

“I need to first of all put in the work and I’m not disappointed at all not to be involved in this year’s edition of the VGMA”.

I BECAME THE NUMBER ONE ENEMY OF ONE OF MY PUBLICISTS AFTER I INFORMED HIM ABOUT HIS MOUTH ODOUR – Wendy Shay

Wendy Shay is looking for an education on how to tell somebody that they have a mouth odour.

The RuffTown Records artiste in a post sighted by Zionfelix.net revealed one of his publicists had such a problem.

According to her, this publicist did not like it after she informed him about his situation.

Wendy said she has now become the number one enemy of this publicist.

She wrote: “How do you tell somebody who has a MOUTH ODOR ( HALITOSIS) without offending Him. One of my publicists had a very bad MOUTH ODOR … I decided to help him and guess what I became his number one enemy.”
