“I NEED A LADY WHO CAN CARE TAKE OF ME” – Kuami Eugene

Afrobeats artiste, Kuami Eugene, is currently enjoying a streak many new artistes dream of; he has hit songs (Angela, Confusion), is collaborating on bangers like Adwinfi with Shatta Wale and of course the ladies are falling for him all over.

His good looks and amazing talent are big pluses for him and that will draw many ladies to him but he will only fall for a certain type; a homemaker.

The “Angela” hitmaker, who says he is currently single, has revealed to Showbiz that he is looking for a lady who can take care of his needs.

“I need a lady who can care take of me and my kids and run the home well when I get married to her,” he said.

Apart from that, Kuami Eugene said his dream girl should be smart, beautiful and have a sense of humour. He recently caused some controversy when he reportedly said on social media that he prefers sugar mummies but he denied that.

He may not have won MTN Hitmaker 5 but Kuami Eugene is certainly on top now. Aside from the hits, he has several nominations at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and his performances on a number of stages especially the VGMA Nominees Jam has earned him great reviews.

But he does not take it for granted telling Showbiz, he has worked hard and gives his career his all.

“Ghanaians think I had it on a silver platter but the truth is that I have hustled my way out to where I am now. It hasn’t been easy at all but I thank God I am where I am now and everyone is talking about Kuami Eugene,” he said.

According to him, daily life situations and the experiences from his past have all shaped him.

Real name Eugene Marfo, Kuami Eugene said he is overwhelmed by the love shown him in his short time in the limelight. He expressed gratitude to Lynx Entertainment for spotting his talent and signing him on.

“Lynx Entertainment came in at the right time and I must say that they have been very supportive of my career,” he said.

SAMINI LIKES WOMEN WITH BIG BREASTS AND BUTTOCKS – Stephanie Benson Reveals

Ghanaian singer Stephanie Benson has revealed she has never been involved in an amorous relationship with musician Samini.

In an interview with SVTV Africa Stephanie explained that Samini is a man who is only interested in ladies with voluptuous bodies, adding that she clearly does not fit that description.

“I’m not the type of lady Samini would have interest in, he’s a man who likes big breasts and buttocks and I stand nowhere near to that,” Stephanie Benson stated.

Some intimate pictures of the two surfaced on social media and sent tongues wagging that the 50-year-old and Samini were engaged in an amorous relationship.

However, Stephanie insists that their relationship has been strictly professional since they met and worked on her song and accompanying steamy video titled: One More.

“In the music video Give Me One More where we kissed we were just on the acting field and we had to kiss to make music lovers feel it’s reality,” Stephanie stressed

Stephanie described Samini as a professional adding that she will never cheat on her husband who has been the only man she has dated since she was a 19-year-old.

“NANA ABA ANAMOAH SHOULD BE GIVEN A ROLE IN GOVERNMENT” – Shatta Wale

Ghana’s self-proclaimed dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, is busily advocating for role in government for eloquent television presenter, Nana Aba Anamoah.

It seems the GHOne TV news editor’s energy and passion for what she does got the dancehall artiste having a deep admiration for her.

The Ayoo singer wrote on his Facebook Timeline, “Nana Aba Anamoah should be given a role to play in government… No wonder shatta michy loves you so much.”

Nana Aba Anamoah, one of the finest journalists in Ghana was reported to have acknowledged Shatta Wale as the king of Dancehall music in 2017.

There have been reports that Nana Aba Anamoah’s Raising Readers Initiative has been playing the dancehall artiste’s songs during their meetings with children on Saturdays.

In a recent donation at James Town in Accra, Shatta Wale’s Taking Over was played as the children went on break. The children, according to report went haywire and danced their hearts out.

Shatta Wale who got so enthused posted the video on his timeline.

Nana Aba Anamoah then took to the comment session under Shatta’s post to write; You’re the KING of DANCEHALL MUSIC!!!

WHO WINS VGMAs 2018 ‘ARTISTE OF THE YEAR’?

Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock…that is the clock ticking towards 14th April 2018.

On that night the whole music industry would gather, once again, to reward those who did well in 2017 and are deserving of picking awards at the 19th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).

Let me start by saying that the practice of predicting who wins what at the VGMA over the years has been more an art than a science. In my time I have got some predictions right on the money and other times I have bungled it big time.

In the years that I had the opportunity to serve on the board of the VGMA, I had held my horses and danced around the subject when the need arises to do a prediction.

In my long experience of covering the VGMA, I noticed that in some years the competition had been tougher than it was in other years. I think this year has one of the keenest competitions since the scheme started and everyone who got a nomination had to really work for it.

Take for instance the category for New Artiste of the Year. My God, that is a load of young, burgeoning stars put together to compete among themselves for the honour to be named the best.

The list includes King Promise, Kurl Songx, KiDi, Kuami Eugene, Magnom, Kwesi Arthur and B4Bonah.

There is absolutely no doubt that all these young men deserve to be nominated and there would be no surprise at all to me if any of them emerges as winner on the night. Do I have a favourite? Yes, but I am keeping my cards very close to my chest.

However, my job here today is to talk about who would likely pick the top prize at the event on the night. The top prize at the VGMA has for a while now been the Artiste of the Year award and over the years some of our greatest artistes have picked it.

This year there are five artistes nominated; Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Joe Mettle and Ebony. The big question is, which of these men and woman would emerge winner?

Sarkodie: He has a ‘trophy’ cabinet bigger and glittering than that of Arsenal Football Club, if you get the football banter. He has won so many awards in different countries and on the front of the VGMA, he probably has more awards from this scheme than any other artiste.

Indeed, with two Artiste of the Year awards he has already picked from 2010 and 2012, Sarkodie is in a position to be the only Ghanaian artiste to win that particular award more than two times.

Currently, only he and VIP have won it twice.

We have to wait for nine more days to know if King Sark, as he calls himself, would become the standard bearer of Ghanaian music (as far as the VGMA is concerned) should he manage to win his third Artiste of the Year award.

Stonebwoy:Since he landed on the big stage and especially in 2014 when his big song Baafira was the favourite of almost every DJ and concomitantly the public at almost everywhere music was played, Stonebwoy has been nominated in this and other categories many times.

At the VGMA 2015, he won this award for the first time and went on to get a nomination in the BET and also won it.

Stonebwoy is big, he had a great 2017 with performances all over the world, buoyed by some good songs. However, the VGMA is a very difficult award scheme and this category is a tough one.

You have three levels of people deciding whether the Ashaiman man and Bhim Nation boss can rub shoulders with Sarkodie and VIP in the double winners’ category.

Shasta Wale : As we all know, Stonebwoy’s Zylofon Media stable mate, Shatta Wale had been off the VGMA for about three years. First because he said he should not be nominated and then later because he denigrated the awards and the board had put any nomination of him on ice.

Many music lovers, especially Shatta Wale’s fans, believe that he would have won the last three Artiste of the Year awards if he had taken part in the 2015 to 2017 VGMAs.

However, as fate would have it he has been nominated for this year’s award and we shall have the opportunity to know if the Dancehall King would emerge the “champiooooooon” his fans say he is.

Should he win the Artiste of the Year award come April 14 or 15 (depending on the time that particular award would be presented), Shatta Wale would have joined VIP and Sarkodie as those who have won it more than once after his only time winning it in 2014.

Joe Mettle:This particular category of the VGMA had a historic winner and that was Joe Mettle.

He was the first Gospel musician to pick that award and it was a big deal for the gospel community. We have had some of them come very close, including the likes of Daughter of Glorious Jesus, Prophet Seth Frimpong, Kwaku Gyasi and many others but none could pick it.

Joe Mettle would change the narrative and become the standard bearer for the gospel sub-genre, even though some thought he did not deserve it.

His cheeky response that “we are children God and sometimes we don’t deserve the favours we get” when he was asked about it was legendary.

The big question is, can lightning strike twice? Can a gospel music artiste and for that matter Joe Mettle, do a double take? Can he be the first artiste to win a back to back Artiste of the Year award in two successive years? It will be a tough one, but children of God sometimes do wonders they may not know they can. We live to see what happens on the big night.

Ebony: I left this for the last. Ebony is no more so obviously she won’t be available to attend the show on the night she was nominated among a strong cast of male artistes.

Despite her obvious absence, there are many who not only think, but even more are convinced that there is none in this category who deserves this award more than Ebony. There have been campaigns since November to award her with this particular award and her death has not reduced the fervour and clamour.

The argument has been that she had the largest number of hit songs in the year, was all over the place performing and despite her demise she deserves it more than the rest. So would Ebony set two records as the first female to win this award and the first artiste to do so posthumously?

Here so you have it my friends: Sarkodie could make it a treble, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and Joe Mettle could all make it double and Ebony could make it a single albeit from the grave! We shall wait to see on the night either being there physically or watching on TV3.

SARKODIE ESCAPES DEATH

Sarkodie was involved in an accident on his way to Asante Akyem Agogo in the Ashanti Region to perform at a concert organised by Highlife legend Amakye Dede.

The incident occurred on the ‘Kumasi Agogo road’, on Easter Monday April 2, 2018, but thankfully the ‘Wake Up Call’ rapper is fine and well and is currently in Agogo township according to sources.

The rapper also in a tweet has confirmed he is safe. He tweeted to his 1.65 million followers:

“Last night was pure madness with the people of Agogo … Day didn’t start too well but one energy I try never to entertain is the “Negative” One ..You should too😊 God keep us all Safe 🙏🏾 I Love all of you ❤❤❤❤”.

Sarkodie was billed to perform at the program with Abrantie Amakye Dede.

Here are some facts gathered about the accident.

1.He traveled by air from Accra.

So many people have wondered why Sarkodie was traveling by road when he could just have used a flight. Well, Sarkodie didn’t go on that journey by full road. He went by air and we’ve seen him at the airport in videos. Definitely, when you get to the airport, you would still have to use the road for the rest of the journey.

2.No serious injuries although he looked traumatized.

Yes, it’s been confirmed that, he didn’t suffer any serious injury and he looked fit when he came out of the car. In one of the videos that was making rounds, he was seen pointing the accident scene to another person who offered her ride to him to get to his destination.

3. He didn’t go by taxi

In one of the videos, some people saw him in a taxi and thought Sarkodie was traveling around with a taxi. That is an erroneous impression. When the car that went to pick him up at the airport got damaged in the accident, there were no cars there to get him to continue the journey, so he had to pick a cab, but before he could move, someone offered her car, and that explains why he was coming out of a taxi to get into another white private car.

4.Another car collided with theirs

We don’t want to believe that was an attempt by someone to hurt him or kill him, but from what we’ve gathered, another car collided into theirs and that made theirs lose track and skidded off the road.

5.Amakye Dede is also safe

Yes, it wasn’t a major accident and we thank God for their lives. We gather the concert happened successfully.

photos: VICTORIA MICHAELS FOUNDATION AWARDS SCHOLARSHIP TO TWO KIDS

There is always hope, no matter how bad the situation might seem. Sometimes what you need is to take the right step and you will be amazed at the end result.

Two months ago when a mother of two little girls Wendy (King David School) and Rachael Asam (Talent Plus Academy) both 5 & 3 years respectively contacted the Victoria Michaels Foundation in search of hope for her kids to continue schooling , little did she know she was entering an opened door of answered prayers.

She sounded really troubled when she made the request  “I will like you to come to my aid by helping to pay my children’s school outstanding fees. My husband left the kids and I two years ago for Libya to seek greener pastures. It has been a real struggle and life has been tough ever since he left. Even my pure water business hardly caters for the home front. My kids are constantly sent home from school due to my inability to pay their tuition fee on time”. She said.

The Africa Literacy Development Initiative (ALDI) through its  Partnership to help underprivileged Children P.U.S.H initiative stepped in and has  really brought to life the Victoria Michaels Foundation’s belief in the power of education and how far it can take one in life especially when given the opportunity ,” Victoria Michaels , Executive Director of the Foundation had these to say “Each scholarship recipient has to be one whose parents is not able to support them through school for one reason or the other.

This program actually was developed for deprived students in tertiary institutions not children in crèche, kindergarten, nursery, primary and so forth. When the formal request from Mrs Philipina Oti, mother of Wendy & Rachael Asam was received, we were quite hesitant and nearly declined the request since the program does not support kids at their level. But after a thoughtful deliberations over the importance of the need we came to the conclusion that if the kids are not given the opportunity at this stage of their lives, they probably wouldn’t even get to the tertiary level.

Together with our partners, Wendy was awarded scholarship worth Ghc 8,100 covering her tuition from Kindergarten to Class 6. Her sister Rachel on the other hand was also awarded scholarship worth 7,100 from her period in KG3 to class 6 . We believe in this kids and must do what we can to equip them with the education they need today so we can guarantee them a better tomorrow. We are grateful to all VMF partners who has helped sponsor the PUSH program and are giving these children the opportunity to become better people in the future. Madam Oti could not contain her joy and emotions as all she initially requested for was just a support to pay her children fee and not the full scholarships for both kids.

The management and students of both Wendy & Rachael’s school’s were elated at the gesture by the VMF foundation and requested that same should be extended for others less privileged kids in the school whose parents are not able to sustain their education. They emphasized that these kids have potential to do great things in the future and for that matter be given the necessary push to achieve their desire.

BECCA UNFOLLOWS EVERYONE ON INSTAGRAM

Afro pop songstress Rebecca Acheampong popularly known as ‘Becca’ has deleted most of her pictures on Instagram and posted black and white pictures of her on Instagram following bleaching rumour.

Could it be that the 33-year old singer is just a lover of monochrome or it is a deliberate attempt to sway people’s attention off her alleged skin bleaching?

Well our guesses might be different, but the Ultimate entertainment desk has seen a sudden change and trend on the “African Woman” hit singer’s page on Instagram @BeccaAfrica

As much as any individual cannot go without noticing the hourglass-shaped of Becca, we cannot also go without noticing that Becca with over ten years experience in the music and entertainment industry, has deleted most of her pictures on her page leaving her with just 43 pictures.

The singer who prides herself as a humanitarian now edits her pictures into black and white.

Her fans have been wondering if it’s an attempt to avoid people from comparing her old pictures with her new pictures.

Another change noticed is that Becca has unfollowed everyone leaving her with 1.1 million following.

I WANTED TO COMMIT SUICIDE – Josh Laryea Reveals

Barely a year after being suspended from the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Gospel musician Rev. Josh Laryea has opened up on the alleged sexual misconduct that took the entire country by storm.

The Emere singer in an exclusive interview Giovanni Caleb and Berla Mundi on Starr Drive revealed he contemplated suicide at the moment especially when everyone including mentors and friends had let him down.

“I may have gone mad, I may have been dead…At a point, I thought of suicide..”

In 2017, a letter issued by The Church Council of ICGC where he worshipped stated they arrived at a decision to suspend Rev Laryea after receiving a report against the pastor.

The letter indicated that “The Presbytery has authorised the Disciplinary Committee to look into the allegations levelled against Rev. Laryea”.

It again stated:“Rev. Josh Laryea is being withdrawn from the pulpit and thereby the Doxa Temple with immediate effect. This is to allow the Committee carry out its work uninterrupted.”

Rev. Josh Laryea after the reports quit the church and established the Charis International Church where he currently serves as the head pastor.

He is also readying for a new album produced by Nacee.

He, however, states the album will be preceded by a single followed by another on his birthday.
