Veteran musician Daddy Lumba and actor Agya Koo are set to launch their television platforms soon.
The launch of the platforms, which will run on mobile phones, was made known by Catherine Afeku, Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture.
The two entertainment personalities, who are tourism ambassadors, the Minister revealed, are launching the television platforms for mobile phones in their names, Daddy Lumba TV and Agya Koo TV respectively.
Madam Afeku, speaking at the Meet the Press at the Information Ministry, on Monday, said the launch of the platforms are part of efforts to promote local content.
According to her, they are “in the business of placing Ghanaian content at the disposal of viewers throughout the world and the artistes are signed on to produce popular content, including already existing content, that will run as a series in the name of the artistes and it is already showing on most of the mobile phones.”
She revealed that, “this Sunday [February 4] at the Accra Mall, we are launching Agya Koo TV. It’s a mobile TV platform that will be in an effort to promote local content.”
The sector Minister also said her Ministry has already secured a television license to commence a tourism channel to help promote local tourism.
She said her Ministry will support the private sector to launch and operate the channel.
Actress Efia Odo and on-screen TV personality, Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa popularly known as Afia Schwarzenegger have taken a swipe at each other over a post made by the latter on social media.
The self-proclaiming queen of comedy took to her Instagram account and shared a video of a young man reported to be the son of popular pastor and leader of Glorious Word Ministry International.
Afia Schwar captioned her post, “This handsome young man is a son of some pastor bi oo…
Rumours have it that He is _ _ _ Schwar Tv is recording now…watch Schwar Tv for the rest of the story from Legon. Good morning Schwaralewas”.
It is however unclear what the rumours about the young man Afia Schwar was talking about were but in a quick rebuttal, Efia Odo jumped to the defence of her ‘cousin’.
Efia Odo commented, “My little cousin isn’t what you think he is there isn’t any rumours like that lord knows”. She added, “Targeting a child because your feuding with his father is an ultimate low”.
The comments made by Efia Odo seemed not to have gone down well with the comedian who came back with the reply, “@efia_odo are you sure or you just seeking attention on my page Madam…what is he not??? What rumours are u talking about???
Efia Odo who also did not take kindly to Afia Schwar’s comment came back with, “I don’t need attention from you and I think the whole world knows that sister afia the rumour u are trying spread that my cousin is gay that’s what I’m talking about. U wanna attack my uncle go ahead but leave the child out of it doesn’t speak well of u at all”.
The fight comes as a result of an alleged war of words between the TV presenter and the leader and founder of the Glorious Word Ministry International Church, Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah.
The ‘altercation’ between the two public figures, according to Efia Odo should not be extended to the children since they know nothing about their misunderstanding.
