PASTOR JOSH LARYEA ESTABLISHES HIS OWN CHURCH

Embattled Pastor/Gospel Musician – Pastor Josh Laryea also known as Tseataa has reportedly moved on; after he was suspected by ICGC.

According to Zionfelix.com, Pastor Josh Laryea has left the International Central Gospel Church to establish his own church.

The name of his church is Charis International Church located at Cantonments in Accra. Josh Laryea’s church was launched on Sunday June 18 this year, weeks after he left ICGC Doxa Temple. Before he left, Rev. Josh Laryea was the minister in charge of the Doxa Temple of I.C.G.C. located at Labone Junction in Accra.

The church suspended the ‘Mmbre’ hitmaker in March this year for an alleged “immoral conduct”. A letter dated March 29, 2017, issued by The Church Council said the decision was taken to suspend Rev Laryea after it received a report against the pastor.

The letter indicated that, “The Presbytery has authorized the Disciplinary Committee to look into the allegations levelled against Rev. Laryea”.

It also added that, “Rev. Josh Laryea is being withdrawn from the pulpit and thereby the Doxa Temple with immediate effect. This is to allow the Committee carry out its work uninterrupted.”

The Church Council noted that a new pastor will be assigned to the Doxa Temple and urged the pastor to fully co-operate with the leadership of the church in the investigation.

Sources close to the church remained tight-lipped on the details of the alleged “immoral conduct” when the issue came up.

She revealed that “my husband and I had a long conversation about the possibility of pregnancy before we married and he was content with the fact that we may never have children.”

She also had some kind words for the family of her husband, saying she was very appreciative of their patience over the last two years even when there were doubts over whether she could ever be pregnant.

“I thank God for the family of my husband for their immense understanding through it all. I never had to go through the agony other people went through,” she added.

Gifty Anti has been the long-time host of The Standpoint programme on GTV and joined a host of other influential women on the ‘Women Praise Concert’ to share their testimonies, so as to help inspire the growing generation.

The concert was also graced by Ohemaa Mercy, Becky Bonnie and Cynthia McColley.

YVONNE OKORO PAYS FEES FOR NEEDY STUDENTS

Actress Yvonne Okoro has promised that she will be offering a supporting hand to needy but brilliant students as part of her charity organisation, Elizabethan Scholarship Scheme, this year.

According to the award-winning actress, she will be visiting some educational institutions to settle bills for some students who need support to pay their fees.

Yvonne took to Twitter to announce the upcoming charity project.

“Glad to announce that this year my charity org Elizabethan Scholarship Scheme will be paying some fees of students in various schools,” she said.

However, she didn’t indicate when she will begin the sponsorship programme.  But her announcement attracted a lot of retweets, with many people thanking and congratulating her bold decision to support ‘struggling’ students.

The school fees paying project follows Yvonne’s annual charity campaign.

In April 2016, Yvonne Okoro won the love and respect of the people of Wungu in the Walewale community of the Northern Region, where she commissioned a borehole project to provide water for the town.

For a very long time, the community had battled with water scarcity. Natives, including school children, walk several kilometres in search of water daily. As part of Yvonne’s annual charity exercise, she decided to go to the aid of the community by funding the drilling of a borehole.

“It gives me joy to offer a supporting hand to those who need it in society. I hope this project will go a long way to impact positively on the lives of the people of Wungu, especially the children and women,” she said when she commissioned that project.

Previous years, she did other charity works, including building a playground for underprivileged children at the Dzorwulu Special School in Accra.

This year, she is not relenting on the charity exercise, as she wants to touch the lives of students in some institutions who are having challenges paying their school fees.

GHANAIAN DESIGNERS HAVE NO IDENTITY – Nana Akua Addo

Slay Queen Nana Akua just loves to dress up.

She enjoys looking good and has over time registered herself on the minds of fashion enthusiasts that she is a maven when it comes to Red Carpet appearances.

The Wannabe actress who obviously is enjoying her new status as a stylish person admits that although she has not been active on the screens, her fashionista lifestyle has been very rewarding and she does not mind paying heavily to any designer whose work will bring the best out of her.

However, she has her reservations when it comes to Ghanaian fashion designers. She thinks most of them are not original and lack creativity.

“There are some very good Ghanaian fashion designers and I love wearing them but most of the rest don’t have an identity. They could move away from the “copy copy” designs and carve a niche for themselves by being creative in order to stand out” she told Showbiz in an interview.

The actress who has been killing it with her numbers at events in recent times admitted she spends heavily on what she wears in order to look good.

“I don’t joke with my appearances so I spend a lot on the designs I wear on red carpets. That is what has earned me global attention and I’m already using it to build my brand”, Nana Akua who is currently running some business deals in the USA said.

Asked how much her Leo Almodal dress she wore to the recently held BET Awards in the USA cost, Nana Akua said, “I don’t want to mention the price of my gown but the truth is that, a Leo design can cost GH¢60,000 to 10,000 cedis. That is not to say that is how much mine cost because I have a deal with the designer and doesn’t charge me as other clients.

But investigations by Showbiz reveals that the gown which has been topic of discussion on social media costs around $8,510 (almost GH¢35,000) and was first won by Australian-Filipino TV Host, Singer, Model and the 2016 Miss World Philippines 2016, Catriona Gray in May of this year..

Interestingly, Nana Akua who has earned many fashion awards back home disclosed to Showbiz the gown made of pearls was initially intended for her but she couldn’t pay for it so the designer had to give it out.

“I wanted to be the first person to wear this gown but there was no cash to pay for it so my designer had to sell it to Miss Phillipines when she saw it in the showroom. That explains why she was the first person seen wearing it but it was originally made for me,” she said.

Talking on how she felt when she finally got to wear the dress, the mother of two said that though people admired her in the dress, they had no idea she was struggling to keep her balance. The heavy dress weighed her down and was quite uncomfortable sometimes.

“I really had to be alert because it was a gown made of real stone pearls. You can imagine its weight but hey, I pulled it off in a grand style and I love every bit of that experience.

Nana Akua who has featured in movies such as Destiny’s Child, Blood, Wanna Be, Rain, Speechless, Never Again, Anokwa and Tears has produced her own movies – Wannabe and Nukuli.

She emerged winner at Miss Ghana Germany pageant in 2005 and was the second runner up at the 2005 Miss Malaika pageant.

One month, one country! That is what actress Moesha Babiinoti Boduong seems to be up to since the beginning of the year.

The curvaceous actress who has not been very busy on the screens lately has been on vacations to about eight countries.

Her pictures on Instagram showing her ‘chilaxing’ in France, Turkey, Dubai, India, Amsterdam, Nigeria, Mauritius and South Africa have raised questions about how she funds her globetrotting spree.

While some have defended her, saying she pays for her trips from the money she earns from the small roles she plays in movies, others are of the view that she sleeps around to support lavish lifestyle but the actress denies the latter.

“I don’t sleep around to make money for the kind of life I’m living, why would I sleep around and for what? It is not true. I love to see the world and I will not wait to have everything going smoothly before I take a break to see the world.

“I do get some comments on my social media pages asking if I make my money from the movies, and today I want to answer them. I do not only rely on the movies for a living but it is certainly not moving from one man to another,” Moesha said in an interview with Showbiz.

“Apart from the movies, I model for some clients For example, before my recent travel to Europe, I did some works for Zylofon Media and I was paid, I’m also into the sale of waist trainers and other things and my boyfriend supports me. These are my sources of income,” she continued.

She added, “Ghanaians love to work so hard and get so much before taking rest but for me, it is different, if I work and make some money, I pay my bills and I if i have some left, I take a break and relax. This is Moesha for you.”

According to Moesha, the fact that people do not see her on their screens like others actresses does not mean she is not working.

“People think I’m doing nothing just because I am not in their faces when it comes to movies but hey, I’m working. I have works that are yet to be premiered. As we are talking, I’m on the set of a new movie called Heroes so it is not like there is nothing happening in my life.”

The Cocoa Brown actress who has signed on to a two year deal with V – Mark, a cosmetic product that clears stretch marks expressed gratitude for the deal.

“I am grateful I was chosen, it has been an amazing deal and the cream is really good. What happened was I actually tried it for like three months and it worked. Then I felt it would be something good on the market so i signed the contract. I thank God for that grace.”

WE KNOW WHAT WE ARE ABOUT – Zylofon Media Speaks

After signing on 10 artistes in the last six months, tongues have started wagging about whether entertainment company, Zylofon Media really knows what it is about.

But Zylon Media wants those tongues to stay put because it has ‘its head well screwed on’ and the fast track signing on of artistes is a good business decision.

Artistes under the wings of the company are Kumi Guitar, Becca, Stonebwoy, Joyce Blessing, Obibini, James Gardener, Benedicta Gafah, Bibi Bright, Zynell Zuh and Too Sweet Annan.

Although they they do not reveal all, Zylofon Media is believed to offer juicy deals comprising of houses, large sums of money, cars among others which is making people wonder how they are going to break even and go ahead to make profit.

Among industry players who feel the rapid sign-ons of Zylofon Media may result in it going the way of of similar companies that have preceded it, is artiste manager, Enoch Adjepong.

“Why do you think the likes of Mad Time Records, Goodies and Agicoat went out of business? Records sales are no more booming in Ghana and I wonder why a new record label would sign on so many artistes.

“Honestly what are they signing the artistes for; there is no way Kumi Guitar for example can make profit for the four year contract he has signed”, Enoch Agyepong who manages Fatao Keita, traditional artiste said.

According to him, he would not have any doubts if Zylofon Media just wants to use the artistes to organise events but to rake in sales is a bit far fetched for him.

However, Samuel Atuobi Baah, Head of Communications at Zylofon Media has a different story to tell.

According to him, Zylofon Media knows what it is about adding that his outfit took into consideration all the advantages and disadvantages before signing the artistes on.

“It is not as if the company has a lot of money to throw away. We want to help the entertainment industry that has suffered for a long time to grow. The entertainment industry to have a record label to sign on great talents” he said.

He explained that, Zylofon Media did a lot of research before it began operating.

“We are aware of all the record labels that signed on a lot of artistes and went burst. We have a well-thought out plan and very soon Ghanaians will know that Zylofon Media means business” he stated.

To him it is too early for anyone to describe Kumi Guitar as a failure adding that their outfit has a great plan for the Break Into Two singer. Mr. Samuel Atuobi Baah revealed that a lot of artistes are knocking on their door to be signed on. “ But we are not just signing for signing sake, we mean business and when our outfit is convinced about a particular artiste then we put pen on paper” he added.
