They will undergo a 5 week residential innovative leadership training from the 30th of July to the 1st of September, 2017. The sessions will feature ethics, contemporary Issues affecting Africa and three specialization tracks of study namely: Business and Entrepreneurship, Civil Society Leadership, and Public Management. The training will be followed by 12-weeks of Mentoring and Internships in their various countries.

She also hinted that centre aims to attract more partners to pursue this all important mission of grooming more African leaders. It therefore welcomes corporate and private institutions who want to help chart this course.

She announced on-going efforts at enacting global networking opportunities between YALI West Africa and institutions such as the Harvard Business School and the Saginaw Valley State University. YALI was launched by former President Barack Obama as a signature effort to invest in the next generation of African leaders. In July 2014, President Obama announced the creation of four YALI Regional Leadership Centres in Ghana, Kenya, South Africa and Senegal.

According to the Head of Corporate Affairs at YALI West Africa (Accra RLC), Mrs. Sefa Gohoho-Boatin, ‘The Centre provides and promotes collaboration and a forward-leaning culture of diversity that entails dreaming and thinking differently to define and realise one’s potential. The three available tracks are inclusive embracing future leaders regardless of gender, ethnicity, socio-economic status, religion or disability.’

The YALI Regional Leadership Centres are a project of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in close partnership with the MasterCard Foundation and other local and international partners across Africa.

Although Highlife artiste, Sister Afia loves to make an exhibition of herself by showcasing her boobs the least chance she gets, she wants to erase the perception that her cleavage is her selling point.

The Jeje singer who leaves little to imagination with her skimpy outfits believes her talent is enough to keep her relevant whether she covers up or not.

“I just don’t get why people seem to have issues with what I wear and my boobs. People keep asking me if apart from my boobs, I have nothing else to show. For the records, my boobs are not my selling point, not at all. I am very talented.

“I don’t get up in the morning and tell myself, today, I want to show my boobs, no, it depends on how I feel. My boobs, my talent and everything form part of the package,’ she said in an interview with Showbiz.

According to Sister Afia, though her boobs are not the reason why she is in the limelight, she is very proud showing them.

“I am very proud of my breasts. They are beautiful and nice. Most girls of today are all over looking for ways to enhance their bust artificially and if I am blessed with them naturally, why should I be ashamed of them. Honestly, I am blessed I must say and I won’t trade them for anything.

“Infact, I cannot do anything about the size of my boobs and how they stand out in clothes. I just have to love them and that is what I am doing. I don’t really care what anyone else thinks. So those who have been talking about them, I cannot help you.

“ I remember people had issues with my bikini pictures I released some weeks ago but the question is, what were they expecting me to wear at the beach. If they are not confident with what they have been endowed with by God, I am and I want to flaunt it,” she said.

Sister Afia who is in the studio currently is working on releasing songs with some of the makers and shakers of the music industry in Ghana and beyond.

“I want to come out with a number of songs by the end of the year and I hope to feature some of the big names who have paid their dues in West Africa like Sarkodie, Davido and Patoranking,” the Borkor artiste said.

Talking about working with AMG rapper, Medikal on her lastest song Borkor, she said, “Working with him was interesting and enjoyable. He was spot on with his rap deliveries and knew the right words to use.

“The video shoot was crazy, I wished the day never ended. He had the right attitude and his composure throughout the shoot was amazing. Medikal is a professional, a gentleman and I would not mind working with him again.

Born to Joe Essoun and Madam Perpetual Duncan Williams, Sista Afia said her favourite Ghanaian musicians are E.L, Efya and Kaakie all of whom she plans to do collaborations with some day.

Songs she has to her credit include Kro Kro No, Borkor, Jeje, Are You Ready, Yi Wani and Due.

Ghana’s foremost and most consistent celebrity red carpet fashion review body – the Ghana Fashion Review Panel have reacted to actress Yvonne Nelson’s recent rave on social media.

The “House of Gold” actress has questioned why movie stars in Ghana have now turned themselves into red carpet slayers instead of working hard to reviving the dead movie industry.

“Listen, let’s put in same energy to bring back the dead industry rather than slay on carpets cuz truthfully y’all know there’s no work!”, Yvonne tweeted.

She also stated in another tweet “The industry has so lost its way and they can’t even see it, they all going in that direction. Dressing up to be posted on SM”,

However, the Ghana Fashion Review Panel led by Mr. Oscar Yao Doe who is President & Executive Chairman Eurostar Limousine, disagrees with Yvonne comments.

Read the full unedited statement from the panel below:

“Slayers will always slay! Yvonne Nelson is totally wrong and she misunderstood the Era we are now! The Era of showbiz glamour sparkling across the Oscar’s, Grammy, Golden Globes, BAFTA, Cannes Film Festival, Venice Film festival, Berlin Film festival, AMVCA, etc.

It’s absolutely wrong to suggest that slaying or red carpet glamour is killing movie the industry in Ghana. The Ghana Fashion Review Panel thinks it has rather added the missing link into the Showbiz industry and it should be maintained. Look at what Zylofon Media alone is doing for showbiz industry in Ghana! Slaying is the only element to generate public interest in showbiz industry, and that’s why Nigerian stars including Omotola, Rita Dominic, Genevieve, Mo Abudu etc do take their red carpet appearances seriously, even though they are also considered bigger showbiz icons globally and because they understood the need to take themselves seriously before the public can take them serious! Long and short is that Ghana Movie is not declining thanks to companies like Zylofon and co it’s making some progress; we are hopeful many others will come on board soon to compliment it! Yvonne Nelson has done her best over the years for movie industry in Ghana, but it’s obvious these days because of social media influence and also times has change so public expectations in showbiz are beyond only movie casting.

Showbiz is too broad and very unique! someone can shine in movie casting and someone can shine merely by their personality associated with showbiz , others can also shine through red carpet or even shine been a showbiz pundit! So it depends on one’s own God giving talent or the person unique personality! Others can also shine through showbiz blogging, showbiz photography etc! Showbiz glamour is bigger and lager and it’s can not be narrowed, even slaying alone can be a big hit for someone if you have the talent! It’s well established and it’s also a global trend that stars can be made instantly sometimes through appearance so slaying and red carpet appearance can be a life changing for therefore showbiz fashion and glamour are all part and parcel of the industry depending on individual talents and ability to improve fashion or grown fashion techniques. And typical example is Kenyan born lupita who got her moment with 12 years slave movie and since then she has been riding high on her appearance”.

Actress Yvonne Nelson has been silent after her tweets went viral. Meanwhile, there has been mix reaction within the movie industry and on the media landscape over her comments.

The Ghana Fashion Review is an initiative established in 2015 by car rental company Eurostar Global Limousine Group, with support from,,,,, Starr FM,,, GHFashionMarketing, and 4Syte TV.

Since 2015 when panel was constituted, about $500,000 have been invested in awarding various celebrities to encourage them to take the fashion and glamour side of show business very serious.
