Nigerian singer, Iyanya, has still not gotten over Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson, almost five years after they broke up.

In a recent interview, the singer did not give up an opportunity to state how much he misses Yvonne and how he regrets the fact that things did not work out between them.

“…we broke up because we hardly had time for each other. I was hustling and I would do four shows in a day and I will make two million. So, I won’t say because I was in love with a woman I’m going to see money and I’m going to lay back.”

He said that he was yet to get over the actress, but had done his best to move on.

“It’s not easy losing a great and beautiful woman like Yvonne. She was everything I have at that moment until I lose her… Life was miserable for me after the break up but life goes on.”

He also revealed details of his first love-making session with Yvonne when he was asked what he missed about her.

“Like our first day in bed. She was like ‘Oh Yeah baby, I really love it’ and her late night and early morning messages and calls. I miss everything about her.”

For the critics who enjoy making disparaging remarks on social media about the perceived failed acting career of Nana Akua Addo, she has one message for them— ‘get a life’.

“Yes, get a life. I’m living my life as a fashionista on Instagram and that is getting me a lot of attention and contracts and I’m proud of that,” the mother of two told Showbiz in an interview.

Nana Akua had been chided for her bad sense of fashion not too long ago. It was very common to see her at glamorous events sporting a pair of ripped jeans teamed with extra-long hair extensions, over the top make-up among others.

But it seems the Destiny’s Child actress has traded her outrageous dress sense for style making her one of the stylish celebs in the country. She received a lot of praise for her outfit at the recently held African Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (AMVCA) in Nigeria.

Nana Akua who obviously is enjoying her new status as a stylish person admitted that although she has not been active on the screens, her fashionista lifestyle has been very rewarding.

“I had been acting for so many years but it didn’t pay off that much until I found my new love in fashion. It has brought me a lot of attention in the industry that acting didn’t bring and it is paying more for me.

“Just last month, I was invited to the AMVCAs as a guest and it was definitely not because I’m on top of my acting career but because I know how to slay. Let me ask a question, ‘where were all those making noise about being actresses. Were they invited’?” she queried.

Talking about her movie career, Nana Akua said her absence from the screens wasn’t because she wasn’t a good actress but the “system has made most actors jobless”.

“The English movie industry is no doubt at a low point. This is the reason I have not been active on our screens. Tell me, how many English speaking movies did Ghana produce last year?

“This has rendered most of us jobless and even affected our performance at award schemes. For two years now, Ghana hasn’t made any meaningful impact at the AMAAs and AMVCAs.

“I was at the AMVCAs this year and we didn’t pick even a single award. This is the reality we are facing now. This inspired me to build my brand around fashion and I haven’t regretted toeing that path”, the mother of two added.

Nana Akua who has featured in movies such as Destiny’s Child, Blood, Wanna Be, Rain, Speechless, Never Again, Anokwa and Tears said she is happy about actors becoming producers.

According to her, this has also become necessary because of the dwindling fortunes of the movie industry and applauded her colleagues who have taken the bold step to own their productions.

Nana Akua started acting over six years ago.  She has produced two movies—Wannabe and Nukuli.  She won the Miss Ghana Germany pageant in 2005 and was the second runner up at the Miss Malaika pageant in 2005.

National Security operatives have swung into action to retrieve the V8 Toyota Land Cruiser in possession of popular movie actor John Dumelo.

The operatives caught the actor, who was part of the failed campaign to get John Mahama elected for a second time as president, with a vehicle belonging to the state, and retrieved one of them from a spraying shop at Abelemkpe, Accra, recently.

The second V8, ash in colour, which John Dumelo allegedly claimed was in possession of his girlfriend, is currently being pursued by the operatives, Daily Guide learnt at the weekend and the actor is under extreme pressure to provide the second V8 vehicle.

Total Denial

When news broke that one of the two V8 Toyota Land Cruisers classified as missing from the pool of state vehicles had been retrieved from John Dumelo at an auto mechanic’s shop, he allegedly took to Facebook, a social media platform, to rubbish the publication, claiming that he bought the vehicle impounded by the state.

He posted, “I have not granted any interview both private or public to which I mentioned the name of the first lady for buying me a V8,” although Daily Guide insists that it contacted him on Thursday via telephone and he said, “I wouldn’t like to comment about it.”

He continued, “I bought the vehicle myself; I never said it anywhere that Madam Lordina bought it for me. I have in my entire NDC life met her Excellency only once at a public event. Treat any publication that tries to link my purchase of a V8 to the former first lady as trash.”

Cynical Reaction

“Did I work at the flagstaff house or hold any political appointment that entitled me to a state car? And I’m sure some people within the NDC are rejoicing because of this false news,” he reacted cynically before signing off with “Keep rejoicing…”

The vehicle retrieved at the spraying shop, with chassis number JTMHVOJ2F4159829, 2015 model with full option, had been dismantled and was going through re-modeling, including re-spraying – with parts allegedly imported from Dubai.

When the operatives invited him to the garage, he reportedly panicked before surrendering the expensive vehicle without any protest. The car was subsequently driven to the Office of the President Annex, close to the State House.

The operatives, upon a tip-off, swooped on the garage a couple of weeks ago and got hold of the auto mechanic who told them that the vehicle belonged to John Dumelo.

He was then telephoned to come to the garage and upon arrival, Dumelo reportedly said initially that he bought the V8 from a car dealer – Svani Company Limited – and claimed he was yet to complete the payment.

The operatives then keyed the chassis number into a centralized computer system but the results showed that the vehicle was registered in the name of the National Security Secretariat, which is a property of the Government of Ghana.

Sensing he was getting into trouble, he’s reported to have quickly changed his story, claiming that it was the former first lady, Lordina Mahama, who had given the V8 to him.

The security operatives immediately decided to cross-check from the former first lady to ascertain the facts but the actor (Dumelo) reportedly pleaded with them to stop and just take the vehicle away.

The operatives’ checks at Svani Motors along the Spintex Road indicated that the company imported the vehicle for the National Security Council Secretariat and that it (company) is one of the several auto dealers used by the government to import vehicles for the state.

Free Cars

Daily Guide sources say John Dumelo got two V8s from the erstwhile NDC government, with his girlfriend driving one of them.

When he was asked to direct the operatives to the whereabouts of the other vehicle, he allegedly pleaded with them to allow him to travel to London and come back to produce it, saying by then the girlfriend would have returned from a trip she had made with the ash V8 Land Cruiser.

As at press time yesterday, the second vehicle had not been returned but Dumelo is claiming that he purchased the seized vehicle registered GE 8118 –16.

With all the essential physical features that would attract most men on any day, one would ask why any man would end a relationship with Ghanaian actress Tracey Boakye.

Well, for the actress, dating goes beyond just having the physical features of a typical Africa woman and once a chapter is closed, she comes back only stronger.

In a very open conversation with NY DJ on #RYSENSHYNE on Y102.5FM in Kumasi, the actress who doubles as a movie producer with 13 movies to her credit revealed there’s not a single of her exes who wouldn’t want her back at the moment.

“I have this idea of making myself better after a breakup and that’s what makes them want to come back”, she said.

“If you break up with somebody, put it in your mind that you are going to make the person proud of you, that is me. I make sure I move a step higher after a break so that even when you don’t want me back, you feel proud to have dated me”.

Asked if she’d ever been faced with requests by movie producers to get into her pants before roles, the actress responded in the negative saying, “it didn’t even happen when I so much wanted to be actress how much more now that I produce my own movies?”

She however revealed she once dated a movie director not because she wanted movies roles but simply because she felt in love with him.

Tracey is said to be readying a new production titled The Devil Between My Legs.

Ghanaian musician Mzbel has admitted she took to skin bleaching in her teen years because it was the norm in Jamestown, a suburb of Accra, where she grew up.

The Awoso Me hit maker disclosed this on on Class91.3FM on Thursday 23 March, 2017 when a listener sought her opinion on skin bleaching.

The singer, in response, said: “Skin bleaching is bad,” sharing her experiences with show hosts Prince Benjamin and Natalia Andoh.

“Skin bleaching, I think, is bad. If you don’t do it right, you will end up having cancer. I grew up in Jamestown where, at a certain age, if you don’t bleach your skin you don’t know what’s up. If you don’t have a child so they can have an outdooring on the street, you don’t know what’s up. So by the age of 14, you start buying cream. And they only bleach their face. …It was like a trend and once your face is bright, it’s OK. So I have tried it before, I have tried skin bleaching because then, that was the thing there and all my life I grew up in Jamestown until I was done with high school,” she stated.

According to the controversial musician, she became aware of the dangers associated with the practice when she became famous.

“So, when I finally became a celebrity and I saw the disadvantages of these things, I started preaching against it, but unfortunately when you start bleaching and you stop and you do not use the right product you end up having some damages to your skin. So to be able to keep them away you have to continue always and you don’t want to end up having only a white face, so you have to do the whole body and it becomes like a part of your life,” she added.

With her knowledge of the side effects of skin bleaching, Mzbel noted that she has resorted to preaching against the phenomenon whenever she gets the opportunity to visit Jamestown, where the practice is widespread among the youth.

“So, whenever I have the opportunity to go to Jamestown to do charity work, we talk about teenage pregnancy, safe sex, skin bleaching, and I always use myself as an example. I tell them: ‘The amount of money you will have to use to fix yourself after you get the damages is not a joke,’” Mzbel disclosed.
