Another celebrity has passed on and as always, there a looming controversy over burial.
Just few hours after the demise of Highlife Singer Daasebre Gyamenah, his family has already raised ‘red flag’ when and how he is going to be buried.
The family of late highlife musician, Daasebre Gyamenah say they won’t allow him to be buried hours after he died in line with Islamic tradition.
According to the family, although the musician was a Muslim, he will not be buried in line with Islamic tradition because he was a royal from the New Juaben Traditional Area.
The remains of the musician has been conveyed from the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital(KBTH) en route to Koforidua. Daasebre Gyamenah, 44, according to his manager Papa Loggy, passed away Friday, while he was on admission at the 37 Military Hospital.
Papa Loggy confirmed on Daybreak Hitz with KMJ that the late artiste had not been well for some time now and had been in and out of the hospital.
The late musician’s manager explained to Myjoyonline.com that Daasebre’s wife informed him that the highlife artiste was on admission at the 37 Military Hospital where he died Friday morning. His body, he added, was then transferred to the KBTH morgue.
Grammy Award winning Singer Mary J. Blige just pulled the plug on her marriage to her husband/manager filing for divorce to end her 12 year marriage, TMZ has learned.
Blige just filed docs seeking to end her union from Martin “Kendu” Isaacs who she married back in 2003. Blige lists the date of separation as “to be determined” — unclear why.
Blige cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. The couple has no children together.
There is one interesting note … Blige is asking the judge to block Isaacs’ ability to get spousal support. The document does not say if there is a prenup. We reached out to Blige and Isaacs so far, no word back.
Unclear what went wrong — but back in 2014, Blige talked about the challenges of dating her manager during an interview with Stella Magazine.
“He always has my back he’s going to fight to the death for Mary J Blige. The downside is that there’s no separation it’s on all the time.”
“When you don’t feel like answering to your manager, he’s still your husband. If one of you doesn’t want to talk about something right now, you have to respect that. And you have to respect each other’s space.”
Blige also famously banned Isaacs from having friendships with other women.
“All females for me, all guys for him. There’s none of that, ‘Oh, that’s my female friend. Oh, that’s my guy friend.’ No. Not in a marriage, I’ve never seen that work.”
A rep for Blige tells TMZ, “Ms. Blige is saddened to say it is true that she has filed for divorce saying sometimes things don’t work how we hoped they would… but, there is a divine plan and a reason for everything. Mary will continue writing & working on her album which is due out later this year along with her world tour. She thanks and appreciates her fans for their support and love through this very difficult emotional time.”

Meanwhile Godson Boakye has responded to Afia accusation of intruding her Haatso residence in Accra with police officers and thugs to damage her properties. In a statement copied to GhanaWeb.com, Mr Boakye refuted the accusations revealing that he rented the said apartment for Afia.
The statement said, “She used to live in Tantra Hill and she was threatened to be evicted with a notice from the court which I can provide you with that document as a proof to back what I am saying. Afia then asked me to help her find a place until she gathers some money to rent an apartment on her own.
“In order to avoid any embarrassment of her items being thrown out, I offered to help her live in my house for two months to look for a place. It is now three years and she’s refusing to vacate the property which she’s squatting and refusing to pay rent.”
Below is the full statement and a document from the court:
Afia is not giving you the full story, but rather seeking attention and making false allegations. I am the owner of that property and Afia has been squatting in that property for the past three years.
She used to live in Tantra Hill and she was threatened to be evicted with a notice fromthe court which I can provide you with that document as a proof to back what I am saying. Afia then asked me to help her find a place until she gathers some money to rent an apartment on her own.
In order to avoid any embarrassment of her items being thrown out, I offered to help her live in my house for two months to look for a place. It is now three years and she’s refusing to vacate the property which she’s squatting and refusing to pay rent.
Last Friday, relatives went there to ask her to vacate the property, which the situation got out of hands and police intervened on her behalf and asked them to come on an appropriate time to effect the eviction.
She is however now trying to implicate the story to make it look like it’s her house and she was attacked under the auspices of the police.
There was a brief affair between the two of us, however, her claim now is that she is married to me and therefore the whole process is in court, which is never true, rather, it is a process of praying to the court to evict her, which the court process had already been discontinued.
I am willing to give you documentations and any evidence you may require to this process. In the mean time, may I please remind you that I am not her husband and neither are we related, or we ransacked our own property neither did the police backed anyone to conduct anything unlawfully and therefore the allegations are false.

After several controversies, speculations about the man in her life for almost a decade now since hit the limelight, she has finally admitted she is dating and even given hint about her man.
Ghanaian songstress Rebecca Acheampong aka Becca has revealed that she is in a relationship with a man who understands and accepts her for who she is.
It has been widely speculated in the past weeks by a section of the media that Becca and hi-life artiste Bisa Kdei are in love and secretly engaged.
The two have been seen together at different places and released a remix of ‘Hwe’ which intensively fuelled the rumour.
But speaking on 3FM’s Urban Blend hosted by Miriam Agyemang, Becca revealed that she has been seeing someone for some time and it is definitely not Bisa Kdei “I am seeing someone and it’s definitely not Bisa Kdei and he knows that and the closest people around me know it.
“He is just a business person and does his own personal stuff and he is very private too.”
She described her lover as calm and a down-to-earth person who understands her and accepts her for who she is and said he is exactly the kind of person she needed.
“I needed somebody who understands what I do and accepts me the way I am and knows that there is going to be one or two rumours and still gets that fact that at the end of the day, he knows who he’s dealing with.
“If you don’t have someone like that in the business we do, it’s always going to be hard to even be in a relationship,”she said.
Becca also revealed that most celebrities end up being lonely because they find it difficult to trust people they meet. She explained: “I think you could be lonely which is very possible because you get to certain [level] in your life where there is very little trust so you tend to just crawl into your own shell because you don’t know the person”.
